Not refurbished but used. I bought a D500 with grip and batteries and with only 14,000 clicks for $1000.00 on Ebay. Works perfectly.

I also bought a refurb in a D7000 in a white box a few years back, with zero actuations, I don't remember from who, probably Nikon and was my favorite camera until I went to full frame. I gave the D7000 to my daughter.

Hello, my name is Bob, I began my DSLR Photography Journey about 3 years ago, after doing my research, I chose a USED Nikon D3300 Camera & 18-55mm lens, purchased for $375.00.
It has been a Great Camera, Easy to Learn, Easy to Operate, Easy to understand. The Nikon D3300 is a "Crop-Sensor" (smaller size Sensor) model DSLR Camera, meaning to realize the true "Field of View" (F.O.V.) you must multiply the length of the Lens by 1.5, so with a 50mm lens, your F.O.V. would actually Multiply 50 x 1.5 = 75mm F.O.V., Now some Photographers state that this "Crop-Sensor" is actually defined as "Depth of Field" or (D.O.F.)
Now a Full Frame Camera has a full sized Sensor so a 50mm Lens = true 50mm.
Now with this in mind, remember the Full Frame will be a little more Expensive, a little Bigger, & Heavier, and maybe be a little better built. The Lens will always be Top Quality on both of these models.
I still have & use my D3300 and enjoy it. Someday when I feel ready, maybe move up to a "Full Frame" Nikon DSLR.

I have bought refurb Nikons from both B&H and Adorama and have never been disappointed. Most often they are brand new cameras that haven't been selling so every once in a while they offer them as refurbs in white boxes with a shorter warranty period, 90 days vs 1 year. I bought my Z7 about a year ago as refurb from B&H for $2,100—it was brand spanking new with zero shutter count and have had no problems with it. I bought my refurbished D500 from B&H for $1,100 and it totally looked like new but had 517 shutter clicks—not a big deal. I bought a Z6 refurb that was also brand spanking new with zero shutter count for $1,299 about six months ago.

These deals don't happen all the time, and the refurb may not always be brand new, but they are usually close to it, especially cosmetically. I would NOT buy refurb Nikon lenses for one reason: you do not get the benefit of the 5 year warranty, and usually the price difference is not that great on lenses, which from my experience are just "used" lenses as there really isn't much to refurbish on a lens.

A refurbished camera will never have very many actuations. They’re not cameras that people have owned long enough. Sometimes they’re cameras that were defective when initially bought and returned, repaired, sometimes they’re perfectly good cameras that were returned for some other reason. They can’t be sold as new so they’re checked out, made like new and sold as a refurb.

Thanks. That explanation clarified my concern. Frank

Bought a D850 from MPB and experienced excellent service and product. Also purchased a lens that was perfect.

Nikon sell refurbished equipment also a host of other companies. I just recently bought a Nikon Nikkor 16-35 from KEH. It was a good price and as listed.

Always my first choice. I've never gotten a dud. I've gotten them with between 5 and 942 shutter actuations - usually very low. I would buy from any reputable camera dealer. They will not be able to tell you how many clicks the cameras have on them, though. That would require them to open all the boxes and go through the whole procedure.

Just FYI, when Nikon refurbishes a lens, they add two tiny raised dots to the serial number sticker, one on each side of the number. We bought a refurb 16-80mm DX VR direct from Nikon a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with it, especially for $599 - this lens is normally $1086. I don't know if they do the same on camera bodies.

Purchased Nikon factory ( not 3rd party) Nikon warrantied refurbished cameras and lenses from B&H and Adorama. Nikon now also directly (Nikon website) sells refurbished warrantied cameras and lenses, and often offers 10-20% discounts on the refurbished price and free shipping. The discounted refurbished products are like new and a tremendous bargain.

I have bought both cameras and lenses from B&H, Roberts Camera, and private parties. The cameras I only buy from dealers that offer at least a six month all coverage offering. Never had a problem. I have had a couple of issues with privately bought stuff but you have to expect that too.

Three of my four Nikon DSLRs are refurbished and have performed flawlessly. All were bought from Adorama.

The only downside is that Nikon only offers a 90 day warranty on a refurbished lens, as opposed to 5 years for a new lens.
