I bought a refurbished by Nikon D7000 from Adorama several years back. When shooting anything with a solid white background there were stripes on the background. When shooting a solid white wall it looked like wallpaper. I immediately notified them and they emailed me a return label then sent another refurbished one that I'm still using. Every bad experience is probably outweighed by 90 good experiences. The seller will give you a certain time period to return it. I don't hesitate to buy used or refurbished from a trustworthy dealer.

I use a refurbished D7200 and have had no issues. I bought it directly from Nikon.

I bought a Nikon D3S from Used Photo Pro (Roberts Camera) and a D800E from Unique Photo - both excellent low shutter count cameras in great condition.

Do any of you Nikon shooters use refurbished cameras? If so, any problems? Also, which vendors do you patronize? Thanks for your replys.

Alaways, Adorama is great!

Never had any problems with refurbished or used Nikon equipment from Adorama, but I try to spend locally as much as possible. Most of my equipment has come from Cameragraphics in Auburn, Al. Purchased serval used cameras and lens from them.

I bought a Nikon D7000 from B & H a few years back. It came in a white box and was certified Nikon refurbished. It looked like new but the sensor was really dirty (I mean REALLY dirty). I sent it back to B & H and they sent me another. It was absolutely perfect. In fact, the shutter count was under 50!

You'll hear this from many hoggers as well as me...when you buy a refurbished (by Nikon) product you'll be getting a product that has been completely inspected and brought to the exacting specs of a brand new item. I always look for a refurbished camera or lens from Nikon and know that I'll be getting a good as new item. I've made many refurb purchases from Nikon and NEVER been disappointed. I would recommend that you buy refurbished and put the money that you save toward a new lens or something else. Good luck.

Every now & then you will see refurbished by Nikon from the resellers like B&H, etc. Nikon does go over every inch of the camera & offer a warranty.

The key point here is buying refurbished from Nikon. I think that has the best chance of actually being refurbished. I'm suspicious of Amazon, B&H, Used Photo Pro or anyone else saying it is refurbished. That word can have many different definitions.

I trust B&H, Adorama, KEH and of course Nikon. With three great options I see no need to look beyond them. I bought the D500 from KEH after reading all the comments. I also started with purchasing a D300s to replace a failed D300. When I decided to move up to the D300 they took the D300 back and I received my credit two days after they received it back.

I purchased my D500 refurbished from Nikon about 3 years ago and have never had any problems. Have also purchased a couple of refurbished lenses, again with not problems.

My D500 is a refurb from Nikon, I think I got it from Adorama, my D7200 that I gave to my nephew was a refurb I got at B&H and I have used lenses from MPB, KEH, B&H and Adorama. I’ve never had a problem with any of them.

At your suggestion, I just had a look at Fred Miranda's classified ads, but was unable to figure out how to search the sale listings. The enhanced Google search turns up numerous forum threads about the searched item, but not for-sale items. Maybe one must register to search sale listings?

Thanks
