Hello. I have a question for those photographers who use Capture One Pro and Helicon Focus in the stacking and developing of .orf files: Does this post-processing program well for you? If so, please explain. If not, then please explain.

To be clear, I shoot in raw with the Olympus M5, MarkII and the Olympus M1, MarkII.

Thank you.

If you want to bring your RAW data from your Olympus cameras to life you should be using proprietary software, in your case Olympus Workspace.
The software was designed by Olympus to edit the files from their cameras.

I have just downloaded the Olympus Workspace but find the text is so small I can't use it or even get to know it comfortably.

Any remedies for this?

You might try PhotoScape X. It's free, easy to use, and works well with my TG-5. I don't know if it works with Helicon Focus -- never tried it. There are YouTube tutorials, and this review by Tony Northrop is a useful overview.

I don't know of any stacking software that works from camera RAW. You would need to convert them to tiff or jpeg. You can of course batch process them before converting them and sending them to be stacked (to reduce noise, etc. ). Helicon Focus is a major stacking brand, although I have not used that one. It is very competitive with Zerene Stacker, which I use all the time. Both HF and ZS are leading kinds of dedicated stacking software. Zerene Stacker is very powerful and easy to use, and I am sure that Helicon Focus will be similar since they are regarded rather equally well.

I shoot exclusively with Olympus and use Helicon Focus quite a bit but not Capture One, so maybe this doesn't apply to you. I just drag (or select) my .ORF files into the workspace and let it do its magic. The result can be saved as DNG, TIFF or Jpeg. I stack first and process second. I highly recommend it. I have never used Olympus Workspace for photo processing as someone suggest you should do. From what I have seen of it I will be sticking with LR, PS and ON1.
