I was granted access to shoot some basketball for the
Milton High School girls. It's been a year since I shot
any sports, and really odd seeing them play in masks.
Can't wait until they start playing volleyball and hockey
again too!
Nikon D750 with the Tamron G2 70-200 at f2.8 1/500
and auto iso - usually around 2500 or so. I shot
these in low res jpegs, pretty much straight out
of the camera with just cropping to get them
out the school and parents quickly.
Jules, I see you picked up a D500 - how do you like it?
I picked a used one up also, mainly for birds in flight.
Nice action shots! Congrats.

Very nice work. I really like the ball in the net photo. Keep up the good work nd keep posting. Thanks
Tom
Glad you are able to shoot again. Nice shots
These are 1st class - sharp, good color balance!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a basketball photo isolated to a “swish” shot. I relly like that one.

Great captures of all the fast-paced action

These shots are darn good my man. I may buy another D500, my old one has 235,000 clicks on it.
Thank you! I shot another game last night and tried out the D500 with the tamron G2 70-200 f2.8 with and without the 1.4x teleconverter. Worked great! Now I won't feel bad when I sell the D750. I'll post them in a minute.

Can't wait to see the photos
Fabulous reportage skylark... Superb pivotal moments wonderfully captured...
Totally epic documentation that Basket Ball is indeed a full contact sport...
Social distancing decidedly wasn't an option here.
Thinking those teams need to have "School Color" matching masks...
And maybe with their team's mascot imprinted :) Love it!
Keep up the good work and please stay safe... Hoping you're wearing a mask also!
