Hello, I'm just curious.
Assuming that you all have Amazon Alexa smart speaker in your country, maybe yours has a different name?
I'm just wondering if they differ for different countries.
Here in the UK, ours has a British accent, she spells in UK English, she tells British jokes,
She'll stream radio stations from around the world but BBC has a priority,
basically she/it is all British.
Are yours matched to your country?
Best.... Phil
We have four Echo dots and one Echo show. Alexa on these are all American dialect.
American English here no discernible accent and she answers to Alexa or Echo.
Thanks, and would you say that they are American centred as well?

Only if you program her that way. Mine only answers to Alexa. Love everything I can do through Alexa.
My son, here in the states, has his set to speak with a British accent.

That must be an Apple or Google product, Amazon says no accent in US.

I get the same screen on my brand-new Echo Show 8...
I changed mine from Alexa to computer. That is fun until watching Star Trek and they are always talking to a computer. Mine answers in her American voice and is usually not able to answer their request.

My Alexa speaks with an American English dialect but she pisses me off so much I might change it just to be global. My Siri, even though I never call upon her, I changed to a British Accent just to confuse anyone else in the family who might seek her knowledge.
I built my own. I have issues with privacy. Here is something you all can try. Set your phone down in its normal resting state. Talk about lets say a new car purchase. Do this three times in a 3 hour period. Tomorrow look at the adds that are now being put in front of you. Your phone does listen to you. I found out by accident 3 years ago. My wife and I were laying in bed and a raccoon had invaded the attic. We were discussing options on pest control options. In the morning low and behold I had several pest control adds on my phone. Not really a big deal just pisses me off that they are not honest about it. So I built my own Bob. It does everything Alexa does but doesn't send my info to apple or google.
I am glad you all are having fun but I have no desire to have a spy in my home.
