Your defense if Trump with regard to the way he has handled the pandemic defies all logic. He lied, lied, lied about it, totally misrepresented the severity of it, has never had control of iit, always wishing it would “disappear”.
It did not go away as he said—it destroyed the economy, resulting in incredible suffering, and killed 400,000 Americans on his watch. He has nothing to be proud of with regard to his leadership during this national crisis.
Your defense would be laughable if it was not so tragic, and it was over. It is not, Trump leaves office with the pandemic still raging, vaccines in short supply, and 3 to 4 thousand people dying each day.
History will condemn Trump for this—and you unwillingness to accept that places you in the corner of cult like stupidity.

Are you not paying attention my friend. The Attic seems to be made up of Left Wing and Right Wing people. For the past four years The Attic has seemed to be all about those of us who support President Trump and those of us who do not support Trump.

Of course we are not all extremists. I never said that nor did anyone else here that I have ever seen. I would categorize almost all of us as being strong supporters of our party or of specific people in our party, maybe that is the same thing.

I disagree about Trump representing the traditional values of the Republican Party. Take a look at the Republican platform, anti abortion, pro 1st Amendment, pro 2nd Amendment, pro smaller government, pro lower taxes, strong military presence, fewer people on welfare. Now take a look at the Democratic platform. Basically think opposite of the Republican platform. Surely you can see a difference. But Trump was elected because he wanted to do away with the Republican and Democrat Swamp like atmosphere.

Are you able to look at both parties and recognize that both have spoken out to do something with immigration reform for at least 40-50 years now. Now please pay attention here. Have you seen anything in all that time remotely resembling immigration reform? Has anything been done at all in that time? I will help you out. NO, NOTHING at all has been done in all that time. Yet We the People see every day more and more illegal aliens coming across our border which is against the law.

Another question for you. When President Trump tried to build The Wall which every high faulting politician from Bill Clinton and Hilary to everyone else, Pelosi, Schumer et al, claimed to want BEFORE Trump took office; why did they all go against Trump when he wanted The Wall? There are videos of those politicians on the Left wanting the wall, telling us the wall was necessary to protect American jobs, save Billions of dollars going to illegal alien health care, education, food, clothing and shelter. Yet where now is the Left regarding illegal aliens? They have built sanctuary cities and states to protect even the most violent criminal illegal aliens. You do know that don't you?

Imagine, every politician takes an oath, To support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Now take a look at the number of politicians on the Left who want to go against the Constitution by taking away our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights. Notice those who allow and push for more illegal aliens which goes strictly against the U.S. Constitution. Those people who are FOR illegal aliens coming to America are going against established law by doing so. Yet they want illegal aliens to come here, are willing to use tax dollars to pay for them and are willing to offer illegal aliens rights Americans do not have such as higher education. How does that set with you my friend?

Trump did his best to pour gas on the division—he helped make the tribalism worse.
Now, after his one term, on Inauguration Day, the Capital has to be fortified with 21,000 troops and literally on lock-down to avoid violence and death. We should all ask ourselves—what kind of country do we now live-in that we are so fearful and divided?
Throw the blame wherever you want. I cannot excuse Trump; his name calling, hate-filled rhetoric, his love of controversy, his rabble-rousing lies about the stolen election, and the fact that he was President for the last four years, who set the tone of America; all make Trump, to a large degree responsible for today’s division.
