Let me try this again.
I was experimenting yesterday afternoon with my camera, and this is what I did with my Canon 7D. Didn't turn out too bad.
I wanted to freeze a water drop just before it hit a pan of water, and the after effects when it hit the water. It is a very difficult job to catch a water drop at the right time. I shot 175 pictures, and kept 39 of them. Here is how I did it.
I took a baking dish filled it half full of water. Took a white Styrofoam board and placed it facing the camera behind the dish of water. Set up my camera using the macro lens up close. Then I took a zip lock bag filled it half full of water hanging from the chandelier, so the corner pointed down to the water dish. I took a Needle and put a small hole in the corner of the zip lock bag so it would drip in the water dish. I then had to get the camera focused where the water drop would would be. I put a pencil down by the dish and let the water drop on the pencil, then I could focus on the pencil, and the water drop would be sharp. I shot some with the white background, then I put the American flag over the back ground to give it some color. I bounced my speed light from a 45 degree angle off the white background. I have sent you 4 attachments above. Tell me what you think.

http://strobist.blogspot.co.uk/2009/05/how-to-photograph-water-drops-with-one.htmlThe link above is a great video on water drop photography.
It shows three tricks to making beautiful, time-scultped water pictures with a single small flash: Light placement, timing and flash duration.
Its great fun and its cheap, plus it will help a beginner to understand the camera controls better.

Well done. I was thinking along the same lines as Bret.
I think it was worth the effort, especially #1!
