HP Ink cartridges: Did they discontinue the production of the 02 cartridges

Hi All,
Is HP discontinuing the production of the 02 Ink cartridges? I'm having a problem purchasing a single Cyan cartridge. I waited 20 minutes on the phone to get an HP agent. Forget their Virtual Agent, the selection option for my ink question is not there to select. When I go online to the HP site, it show that all the 02 inks are out of stock. It seems that I can get a compatible replacement ink cartridge from another company, which I don't want.
Thanks

Try a third party manufacturer, or even Amazon. You will save $$$$ too.

B&H states that the HP 02 Cyan is discontinued.

Dave is right except there should be 5 $, not the 4 $ he has. When I was doing a lot of printing, I gave an estimate for my 4 color, 8x10 Epson of saving over its long 8 y lifetime by using bulk tanks about $5000 with bottled ink vs OEM.

4 - 30ml color dye ink for $18 so each 30 ml costs $4.50 or $0.15/ml vs OEM $1.25/ml

I get the same sense that these are being discontinued. Apparently very few folks are still using them. That said, try Staples. I just ordered a full set for my dad through them and received them in a couple of days. Don't know if that will still be possible next time he needs ink, but it did work this time.

This is an old printer, and I doubt that there are very many still working...

That's a dirty trick when the manufacturer stops selling ink for your printer. There are always others willing to sell in - and ink for refills.

Obsolescence by attrition.

I don't have a Cyan Cartridge, but I do have a Magenta and a Yellow cartridge. They are in their sealed packets but have expired by now. I bought them in mid 2018 but my HP Photosmart Printer bit the dust right after I bought them. You are welcome to them if you want them. But you know how your printer gives you messages that your cartridges have expired every time you try to print, and you have to override it.

Go to EZ Ink online. They make replacement ink for older printers as well as current. HP, EPSON and Canon have terrible customer services and the stores seem to stock inks for their current copiers and ignore customers who bought copiers from them 6 months ago or longer.

They stopped making dedicated photo printers except for the little ones that only do 4x6. So they probably dont care about that ink. Have to use an off brand or move to a much more expensive printer system. They seem to be backing out of photo paper also.
