This is the reason why they have you wait 15 minutes after getting the COVID-19 inoculation. Any problems can usually be fixed with an epi-pen.

The distrust of almost anyone about almost anything by a large portion of the population is, I think, the greatest hazard this country faces. A doctor or scientist may spend ten years earning their degree and practice it for decades afterwards, but that doesn't protect him by some 'C' student politician who struggles with science and math from challenging his validity. A reporter spends his days reading press releases, attending press conferences and hearings and interviewing people to write a piece back up with sources, but that doesn't protect him from the wild rants of political commentators. Civil servants faithfully report what they've seen and heard on the ground, but they can still be cut to ribbons by in a public, televised, hearing. You on the left, and you are the right and you inhabiting your own universes get out of your *&@#$ bunkers and evaluate the facts against something other than your present beliefs.

Minute quantities of moon dust make it to the surface of the earth. Out of all the billions of humans on earth, one died from an allergic reaction positively identified as "Moon Dust Allergy"
After our election turmoil is settled, our new Space Force will certainly aim its most potent weapons at the moon to "Blast it out of existence"

It does not help that politicians and other government officials, including "trusted experts", provide partially true or untrue information, in order to sway public opinion and public behavior. There are untold examples. Most pertinent:
1. When the U.S. government suppressed any discussion of the 1918 flu pandemic by the press. As did other countries who were at war. Spain, being neutral in WWI, did not suppress reporting, and for their honesty the pandemic was named "Spanish flu" whereas it most likely originated in the U.S.
2. Dr. Fauci, who readily admits to providing less-than-honest expert advice on wearing masks early on in the pandemic, and again when opining about what percent of population must be vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity. All to sway public opinion and manipulate public behavior.

The rest of the story is that the nurse had a vasovagal reaction to the injection. It had NOTHING to do with the vaccine. It affects 20% of females and 30% of males.

Vasovagal syncope (vay-zoh-VAY-gul SING-kuh-pee) occurs when you faint because your body overreacts to certain triggers, such as the sight of blood or extreme emotional distress. It may also be called neurocardiogenic syncope. The vasovagal syncope trigger causes your heart rate and blood pressure to drop suddenly

You are right, it doesn't help for the public is not given the full facts. But I will add this:

1. The 1918 'Spanish' flu happened, literally, a hundred years ago and during a world war.

2a. Dr. Fauci was afraid that the public would snatch up the supply of N95 masks which front-line care providers need. I can give him a pass on this.

2b. I'm no epidemiologist but I think herd immunity probably exists in a range above a certain threshold. Sixty percent vaccinated might provide some herd immunity, but the more that are vaccinated the better it would be for the unvacinated.

We should also remember we known about COVID-19 for just a year. We are still learning about it.

Yeah, hoaxes and misinformation get repeated a lot. You cannot stop unfounded conspiracy theories and stories once they hit the www.

In Manatee County you must make an appointment. Much better than waiting in line.

Nonetheless, for those people who believed him (that masks [he did not limit his advice to N95] are not necessary), and therefore went about their life not wearing a mask, became infected and died, the good doctor might be guilty of medical malpractice. Regardless of his motives, he may have endangered lives by lying rather than simply telling the truth.
