Thank you to all who responded today. Bill_DE had posted about it being a possible battery issue. I initially dismissed the idea, (battery showed 3/4 full charge) but upon further research of the google links that were attached, I decided to swap out the battery and along with tuning in my diopter (after messing with it earlier today), that fixed the problem. I'm glad it was a simple fix and I'll keep an eye on that battery. It does have some age to it, so it could be going bad.
Again, thank you to all you offered the advice on all the things to try!!
I’m glad that you resolved the issue.
I truly hate when a camera or lens goes south. I have 4 film cameras in pristine condition. I have 2 digital cameras in pristine condition. I always remove batteries after a month of non-use.

I can’t help wondering how much of the solution was the result of the battery swap and how much was the result of the diopter adjustment. I’d be surprised if the battery swap had anything to do with the solution. Just curious, did you try adjusting the diopter before you swapped batts?

Great!
Why did you start a new thread to post the solution?
Kinda leaves your original one with no ending.

Yes I had, and it did not help at all. Thanks for your post!

I suppose it did. Just thought it would get the results to everyone quicker. I'll try to do better next time!

It was the proper adjustment of the diopter that solved the problem. The battery would not show 3/4 charge if it was bad.
Glad you posted the solution. So often problems disappear into oblivion and those who follow a thread never know if problem was ever solved.
one tip when doing your diopter adjustment. focus on the numbers at the bottom of your image and not on the image itself. i learned this a few years ago and it really helped.
Thanks, never thought it’s the battery.....

Personally, I’m not upset with a new thread bring started. Your solution gets written to the SD Card in my auxiliary brain slot. I formatted it once before and have never been the same since.
