Have you read the bill? Some of your conclusions seem very far-fetched.

Also, the ones who wrote and put the bill together have obviously read it. By the time the bill is formulated most are familiar with the various aspects of it.

Why don’t you criticize Trump, who even refuses to read his daily briefings, and only listens to those who tell him what he wants to hear.

You apparently don't know how the sausage is made, do you actually think that your representatives write those bills? God forbid a piece of legislation interrupt their two martini lunches.

Great, Baz, so tell me why in this bill we are spending $10M on gender studies in Pakistan? Why are we building border walls in more than one Middle Eastern country when clearly we have decided that borders are bad? Why are we paying down other nation's debt when we not only can't pay down our own, but have to borrow to do it? How does this spending benefit the American people?

You will defend anything coming from the left no matter how ridiculous it is.

Why do you thpnk I am defending the bill? I am just pointing out why our appropriations are so effed up. There is lots to this bill I detest. I already mentioned the funding for the construction of two new museums.

I left the Republican Party when W took into an unnecessary war on the credit card while he gave everyone a tax cut.

Let me ask those pointing fingers at the republicans, neither of my kids have missed a paycheck through this pandemic, my nephew has a small business and none of his employees have missed a paycheck, I am pretty certain that few of the millions and millions of local, state, and federal employees have missed paychecks, so why should every American get $2000 checks?, including the 10's of millions of employed Americans, does that make sense? Should the teachers who have been on paid vacations get checks? That is representative of how lazy and irresponsible our government is, instead of actually doing the work to get money to those who really need it, they simply send out checks on borrowed money to the masses......

Right now, consumer spending is keeping the economy afloat. The money is a stimulus to keep consumers spending. For those who need aid because they are out of work with no unemployment, $600 won’t go far. The two payments should be treated differently.

Gender studies ? Zero to do with covid stimulus funding !!!
It is 1&1/2 % if the 684 million in foreign aid to Pakistan under the omnibus spending bill.

It was Trump who came up with the $2000 figure. He must be trying to buy people’s support. He didn’t show any interest in the bill when it was being put together and didn’t contribute any input. Now he’s butting in hoping to get any and all the credit. Talk about lazy and irresponsible...

It is not the figure, the figure could be even more were it properly written, people are losing everything, yet people who have lost nothing are a part of this package.... Congress is fat and lazy, they don't do their jobs and they spend money like mad fools, 1 because it is not their money, and 2 because they have a printing press where they can print it but that will eventually come back to haunt us all.

Well Trump and AOC which I find hilarious. Trump and AOC on the same side?

Trump Town must be burning down with cognitive dissonance.

The borrowing of money when interest rates are so low and giving it to Americans tgst need it to survive and will spend it is a good investment with very positive payback. But it is not when the upper income limit is so high that many bank the money instead of spending it.

That’s wrong- the income limits.

You tend to see things as either black or white. Your assessment of Congress is somewhat overblown and unfair. Yes, it is sometimes inefficient—but it’s bound to be in a democracy. You know what is more efficient? An autocracy. Which is what Trump is openly attempting to create. Which means bye-bye democracy.
