I'm looking to sell some of my work on line. I have two companies
I'm looking at 1) fine art america 2) visual arts marketing.
Does anyone have experience working with either company?
I'm open to any comments or advise.
Nice sharp shot...colors are great.
You sent this to the wrong person

I have a site on Fine Arts America and I am happy with them. I have sold a few prints. Just remember that their free service limits you to 18 images that can be marketed. You have to use the paid service for unlimited images. The fee is $30 a year, You can look at my site here:
http://jimplogger.artistwebsites.com/I am not familiar with Visual Arts Marketing. Maybe someone can speak to that.

I sell on FAA and am happier with their service than any others I've tried but be aware it's not a social site particularly. I find them very professional and They pay regularly monthly regardless of balance!

Please send me your web site so I can see what FAA has done for you
Thanks, looks like a very professional site. I like the effect of the picture being outside the framed square. What is that called?
How long did it take to sell your first sale?
Any other advice?
Thanks, that helped a lot. How did you establish the price?
How are the galleries set up?

Not sure who question was directed to....me or jd?
Jim is the one with part of his image outside the frame so I'll let him address that. I like his work a lot.
I think I made my first sale at 3 or 4 months after starting with FAA. I set my own default prices for whatever sizes a customer may want, so I get that price plus a percentage of whatever else the customer buys from FAA, like frames and matts. That's all I'm really interested in selling except for greeting cards. I haven't posted anything for a while since I've been on the road for six weeks accumulating new images of wildlife, waterfalls and landscapes. More to come soon. I recommend you read their blog about selling but It's been my experience that they do what they say they will do for you.

I call the out of frame effect "Out of Bounds". It is done entirely in PS CS5. I made my first sale 2 weeks after setting up the site. They pay you by depositing to your Pay Pal account .
Thanks that is a great effect. I'm new at this, what is PSCS5?
