You don't give things too much thought do you, the bill was written by a group composed of special interests, a hand full of Senate and House staffers from influential offices, and not put on the floor until just a few hours before the vote was to be taken, so what real input did your representatives have? This is again a funding bill for the entire government, either pass it or shut the government down, where were the representatives of the American people, your representation and mine, given a chance to debate the specifics of the bill and truly represent their constituents? It is a shame, they don't give a shit about the American people, we mean nothing to them... And why are we paying millions of dollars for things like gender studies in Pakistan? Washington is broken and being run by a handful of million and billionaires, clearly we are not being governed as the constitution intended, with our consent, were the American people allowed to address the issues we see, from both sides of the aisle, the government would function according to an entirely different set of rules... ie, all bills of 100 pages or less must be published at least 2 weeks prior to a vote, bills over 100 pages must be published 4 weeks and then debated on the floor prior to a vote so that American citizens can read and provide feedback to their congressional representatives, none of this 5500 page bills with only hours to read them. That is done so that all kinds of special interest crap can be thrown into them and get passed, crap that would never stand through a floor debate.

I hope everyone that is ranting about this bill understands that the stimulus is only part ( about 40%)of the bill.

One poster complained and gender programs in Pakistan not having anti connection to the stimulus. Of course not , it is part of the “ omnibus “ spending portion that funds the government thru next September. McConnell has been sitting in the bills required to find the government for months.

It all in one bill - the stimulus. AND the omnibus spending bi wrapped in one package with the stimulus cost of $900 billion and the omnibus government funding bill of $1.4 trillion.

No, I did not rant about it being connected to the stimulus bill, I absolutely understand that it is passed as a huge omnibus bill which replaces the normalized budgetary process and is always put off till the last moment so that both sides can stuff it full of pork! My question was comrade, why are we paying millions of dollars for things like gender studies in Pakistan anyway? How does that pork and other similar pork contained within the bill benefit the American people? Why are we paying to strengthen the borders and actually build border walls in several Mid-Eastern countries yet here in this country we find border security and walls to be offensive, they don't work, and they are racist!

Answer those questions with a straight face and then tell me again how big government is good.
