Win 10. Plenty of memory and SSD drives.

Just a thought; I recently had a 1T SSD installed In a LENOVO laptop and was told by the technician (not yet been able to verify) that “SSD drive performance deteriorates rapidly after exceeding 65-70% capacity. I’ve not been able to verify nor have I yet experienced this yet myself. Could this have something to do with your issue? I’m sure others more qualified than I can help you. Hope you find the solution.

It took me 13 minutes and 42 seconds to move 247 files with the same keyword into one folder. I am running a 17 month old Dell 27-7777 aio with the i7, 32gb of ram, and a 1 Tb and a 2tb SSD drives. The only app I had running was Lightroom Classic.
It was like the old days using a 80286 AT system, copying from hard drive to a floppy or a Zip drive.

If that is inconvenient, then move them outside of Lightroom. Once moved, synchronize the folders. My preference is to give Lightroom time to do the slower processes. If I get antsy, I can get a beer, coffee, whiskey or tea. If not thirsty, I can usually find a YouTube on something that will refresh my knowledge on some photography technique.
