Miss that 2-week return window and KEH has a restocking fee today.

I have purchased lenses from KEH but never sold to them. MPB prices always better.

After inquiring about a Nikon DSLR they've listed asking for the number of clicks and if it's a US model, I got this:

"Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, all our used gear warehoused in a separate limited access facility. Due to this we are unable to provide specifics about any of the items listed for sale. However, all our used gear carries a 14 day no hassle return period and 6-month warranty, so if the item is not as expected it can be returned with the exception of AS-IS or Ugly merchandise. The grading system does provide you a guide to go by to help you make choices on your selections."

I'm at odds whether or not I should try it. Seems like a lot of process to for a test drive. I'm also wondering if they are drop-shipping these from a third party. Anyone else have experience good or bad with them?

Hi Bob, They are a stand up company. I have bought from and sold to them. No nonsense with them at all.

K E H is top drawer in all aspects! "Clicks" aren't as important to some people as to others. They stand behind everything they offer. Best rating system in the business.

I have made several lens purchases from KEH, and I would consider their rating system to be somewhat conservative - everything I have ever recieved from them was in better condition than what I would have expected

I don't like they way KEH quotes you one price and then sends a check for much less.

I submitted a 3-month-old Olympus 10iii body in excellent condition -- absolutely nothing wrong with it. They quoted me $190. I sent it in and got a check for $140. When I called to ask what was wrong, and they said "dust in the lens." I didn't sent them a lens, I sent them a camera.

Learned my lesson! It was worth $50 to know that I shouldn't deal with them.

There is a lens in the electronic viewfinder...

Did you speak with a manager? They should have called you to inform you of the drop in what they would pay, rather than just cutting you a check. You should have had the option to pay for shipping it back to you.

Yeah this story sounds suspicious.

One reason why I don't sell to them anymore. MPB quotes a price and if they value it less, they contact first.

My experience buying a lens from KEH was similar to the others. I took a chance on a used lens that arrived looking and performing like brand new.

I mostly sell to mpb.com because they've even paid me more than their estimate after receiving my used lens.

no, no one called and no one emailed. And if hey had I would have asked, how can a three-month-old camera have dust in any part of it? I don't live in a desert, and I know how to take care of my gear.

One other comment, KEH is in Atlanta and I live in the metro area. I have to pay tax. MPB does not charge tax, at least I haven’t paid any.

That's why I only use ebay, there is a Olympus 10III body that sold for $227. take away the 10% that ebay charges and you have $205.30 left. A lot more than the $190.00 that KEH was going to give you and a $65.30 more than you got from KEH for yours. I always sell on ebay and I get to keep the extra money for newer equipment. Why give your hard earned money to KEH?
