Do you only use brand name batteries? Do you wait until complete drain to charge your batteries ?
How about Watson or Wasabi batteries? Can you give any comments on these 3rd party batteries?
Thank you.

We’ve had good luck with Wasabi here. They perform well, and their charger works on 12VDC and 120VAC. The price is right, too, relative to their performance.

I've had good luck with various 3rd party batteries in the past, though currently all I have for my daily user cameras are OEM batteries (Canon).

One thing to watch out for is cheaper 3rd party batteries that come with their own charger. Sometimes that's done when the battery isn't fully compatible with the OEM charger and usually this type battery will have limited "communication" with the camera so that it won't display power levels very accurately.

This is changing, but for example not long ago only Watson offered a clone of the Canon LP-E6 series batteries that was fully compatible with Canon's chargers and cameras. There were a lot that weren't. Those would power the camera just fine, albeit with only limited in-camera info about the battery's status and power level. But you had to be careful to never charge the 3rd party batteries in a Canon OEM charger and vice versa. But today there appear to be more manufacturers offering fully compatible LP-E6 (based upon user reports... I haven't used them personally).

As to the original question about rapid battery drain... I don't know that particular camera model, but if it has GPS and/or WiFi you might try turning those off and see if it helps. I know some Canon models with those features enabled would drain the battery quickly even when the camera itself is turned off.
