I use a Nikon whatever I have on hand digital camera - this was taken with a D800 and an 85mm PC-E in 2017. Today I might take it with a D810 (or the D800, whichever has the lens on it that I want to use).

It that time of the year, to get out what I call a winter camera. It is a small camera great to carry inside my coat. It may sound odd, it is a Zeiss Ikon Contessa. Film camera made in Germany back in the 1950s. Top film use is 200 speed film, It does have a setting for 500 speed, not wish to set a old camera at top film speed. Two big thing I like about the camera-NO BATTARIES and one does not have to have a PhD. to turn it on and use it.

I have a few really oldish film cameras that get no use. For practical use I just leave the batteries out of my Spotmatic or K1000.

Wow! My first SLR was a Topcon Uni. I loved it until the shutter failed.

Small leaf shutter SLRs were known to live fast and die young.

I have two old Mirandas in working condition. The lenses are hard to maintain, but along with its native mount, Mirandas accept M42. Also have two old Pentax cameras (p3n)... their lenses work fine on my K1.

Really noticeable that Gene produces a realistic tasteful rendering of moving water ... most such attempts posted to uhh miss that mark. Seems too many Hogsters want the most extreme and overly obvious special effect for their result. Gene has it down cold ;-)

I have about 10 rangefinders from that era, one of my favorites is the Kodak Signet 40, still shoots great photos!

My small leaf shutter SLRs are still working fine: Zeiss Contessa, Retina IIIC (large C), Retina Reflex III at the young age of 60 years.

On the subject of shooting film, can anyone guess the approximate equivalent megapixel count of Kodak Gold 200? Just curious in comparison to a DSLR.
