Yesterday after a visit to the Dr. office I decided visit Pickle Springs just a few mile outside Farmington Mo.
The last time I was there was June 15th 2013.
This visit was my first after all of the leaves had fallen and the time of my arrival was 10:30 am the time I usually stop shooting and head home.
While the light wasn't very good I was able to see parts of the area that I had never seen on my previous visits.

The entrance to the Slot Canyon, the "steps" had been added since my last visit. After looking at the last step I decided since I was alone not to take the usual route through the Slot

And a closer look shows there are some slick spots under the leaves. And my bounce factor now being zero I stuck to the rim trail( which is new)

The tree line at the back of the bluff is property line of the area.

I noticed this shallow cave while shooting the previous image, I probably could have got a better shot, but I didn't want to test my bounce factor.

Great images. I think that with the increased inactivity my bounce factor has actually increased! Please stay safe (seems to be part of your m.o. anyway), enjoy the holidays and keep on sharing.
Might have been a wolverine or some other nefarious beast in that cave, too. How's your sprinting speed, Frank?
Great set, Frank. Thanks for including the National marker. Re: the bounce factor; I agree, you need to exercise discretion when hiking alone in a landscape that has a 75’ drop and slippery spots covered over by leaves.

Nah
no Wolverines around here, and the cave is very shallow

Thank you very much Joe
I don't usually go alone, plus there is no cell service once leave the parking area.
The images I posted are only a very small portion of what is in this area.
