Yeah, you encounter them in day to day life too. I tend to ignore them whenever possible. Life is too short to let them aggravate me.

It's difficult sometimes, but if we ignore them they may go back into the woodwork.
They get their kicks by getting a rise out of people.
And a series of replies.....

I am sure that some already showed up, with some more hiding in the shadows.

Welcome to the land of the stupids!
I inclined to believe that the anonymity of social media is a breeding ground for stupid people.
I'm at the point where I don't recognize they're remarks............

I totally agree. The anonymity along with the large audience seems to encourage them. Before they had to at least risk exposure and a face to face confrontation. The attic has several very frequent posters that have only posed there for over four months, not sure if they can operate a camera of any form.

You don't have to go all the way to the internet to find jerks. Sometimes I think there are more jerks than the other kind, whatever you call them???
The theory that if one gave an infinite number of typewriters to an infinite number of monkeys over an extended time period eventually one would produce the complete works of William Shakespeare, has been completely disproven by the advent of the internet.
Personally, I'd vote to completely eliminate internet anonymity - post whatever you like, but everyone would know exactly who you are.
Anonymity. Someone once suggested that the name, address and telephone number of the owner of a car be painted on the car. That would reduce bad, inconsiderate driving. Unfortunately an email address is kinda vague.

I was thinking more about real name and IP address which effectively gives physical address. Of course, that could be defeated by a VPN but clearly many offensive posters are far too stupid/ignorant to use one.
