Did you read my post, though. It was just an honest thought about what the reaction of violent leftist groups would be to voting by blocks in the House vs. voting by each individual representative in case of an electoral college tie. It wasn't political in the sense of Democrat vs. Republican. It was merely an observation on what the reaction could be if an electoral tie went to the House. I'd call it social not political.
Dude. Enough already. Posting about Antifa, electoral college and majority vote on day 3 after the election, during the time when the entire country is trying to count votes and figure out if Trump will win with electoral college votes while Biden would hold the majority vote, which might result in large scale riots fueled by Antifa -- that doesn't get any more political.
This is a favorite tactic of some people on forums. To bog down in technicalities and nuances and split hairs indefinitely. It was historic, no it was constitutional, no it was merely an observation, it was social, it wasn't political in this sense or that sense, you posted a link to this post but not that post, whatever. It's getting ridiculous.
You know it and I know it that to a reasonable person this will appear to be political, because it is political. I won't be responding to this anymore as it's a waste of time.
If you honestly can't understand how that is political, then as I mentioned above more than once it's not my problem.

Purely political and religious posts have been eliminated from Chit-Chat, but occasionally tangential thoughts will be made inadvertently. Must we walk a tightrope afraid that if we slip our feet will get burned?
I already addressed that in a quote of my own PM. But I'll rephrase it again just to make sure it's clear.
Any topic that deals with current events or anything of significance will have the potential of turning into a political mudslinging. But that does not justify actually turning it into a political fight.
People could be discussing how COVID rates are increasing or how stupid it is to not wear a mask or how inconvenient it is to wear a mask.
But then, if someone comes into that topic and posts a reply of something like "Trump with his incompetence is responsible for deaths of 290,000 people and he should be jailed" or "the leftists want to train us to use masks to control us later on" -- that will be deleted.
And if a post of yours like that gets deleted, then don't go around whining that your post got deleted because you were "speaking the truth" or "someone is out to get you". It was deleted because you were ruining the topic with your crap.
Sometimes, a topic is too far gone and it will be moved to the Attic. Sometimes, posts will be deleted to clean up the topic and it will remain in GCC. That really depends on how bad it got. (Note to OPs, if you don't want your GCC topics moved to the Attic, then be proactive and report political replies before it gets out of hand.) But the repeated offenders will be removed from GCC.
As for tightrope walking, slipping your feet, tangential thoughts (oh how poetic, bravo!), think of it this way: if you can't sense where the line is, then maybe you aren't fit to post in GCC. And it might be safer for you to stay in the Attic.
Seriously, if you frame it as "I just don't understand", then my response will be "I don't care". If you honestly don't get it, I'm sure the GCC section will be fine without you.
And your own participation in this conversation right now, and how you are still claiming how what you posted wasn't political but social or an observation or whatever is precisely the reason for this policy of "I don't care if you don't get it." (Thanks for helping me illustrate this point, by the way.)
Because otherwise I would just bog down with users who are trying really hard to be obtuse while claiming they aren't really breaking the rules.
So there you have it. If you can't understand what not to post in GCC, then just don't post in GCC at all.
