Even so, which of the 5 points can you refute?

And Denmark expressly asked Bernie Sanders to stop calling them Socialists, insisting their economy is privately owned and capitalist.

If I were ashamed of the direction we as conservatives are taking I would deny it also, but I don't. Earlier in this thread I believe you asked that if we believed in something what did we do about it? I regularly contact my congressman and both senators, I attend any functions featuring them in my area, I have gone door to door regarding issues I support, and I talk to people regarding these issues whenever I can. I also vote in every election and encourage everyone else to do the same.

I truly commend your commitment to civic action.

You've cited extremists but extremists exist in both parties. Reps. AOC, Talib, Omar, Pressley and Senators Sanders and Warren endorse ideologies that I find extreme and won't support. I have a similar dislike of Senators Inhofe, Cruz, Graham and Perdue and Reps. Jordan, Gaetz and Nunes.

There are a few others in each party but these worst of the bunch.

I don't agree with your "backbone" statement but I do see the stretch for dictator-like powers. The increasing use of Executive Actions bypasses Congress. The stonewalling by McConnell, refusing to bring bills to a vote, disregards the will of the people. The use of "Acting" secretaries also bypasses Congressional oversight. trump wasn't the first, just the worst.

Yep, Barry was a bad dude.

I don't consider senators Cruz, Jordan, Gaetz, or Nunes extreme, I consider then decent honest men with the fortitude to stand up and support what they and I believe in, individual freedom and responsibility, and less government control over individual God given rights. Which brings us to the point of just why the democratic party disparages God and anyone who has faith and lives by judaeo-christian scheme of morals. They reason that if God gave man rights no one could take them away, therefore there must be no God and government grants rights that can be taken away at the pleasure of those in power, it all boils down to control.

You're dealing in bogeymen stereotypes, I am surprised you think like that.

There's a good bit of irony there.... the President-Elect goes to Mass every Sunday and has a long record of doing so. The lame duck President is not a church going man unless it was for a photo op. in which he held the bible upside down.

I'm sure you realize that I clearly hold the opposite opinion of the republicans I listed. In my opinion their priorities are themselves, their party and then the country. The right wing likes to call him Pedo-Joe (wrong) but have you bothered to look at Jordan's history and the claims college athletes filed against him?

The president elect goes to mass. He also violates the teaching of his church and has had multiple bishops say that by church teachings he should not be allowed to take communion.

He goes to church, but he doesn't believe in the sanctity of life.

And as far as your list of extremists, I also believe that Nunes Cruz, Jordan et al are honest men who value and want to preserve the constitution. The democrat group that you cited however, is clear that they do not believe in the constitution as written. And, unfortunately they are driving democrat politics right now, not the democrats like Manchin form West Virginia that are actually close to the middle.

The party you are supporting is far left. You recognize that they are extremists, but strangely you don't seem to understand that those extremists are the face of the party you support.

I however am not surprised that this is the way you think. You also realize that Joe has been refused Holy Communion because of his support of abortion?
Being as you support the agenda of the socialist progressive left I fully understand your stance and although I wholly disagree I don't hold that against you. As of now this is a free country and good men have died to protect your right to believe as you wish.

They aren't the party, Biden's cabinet doesn't reflect their beliefs. Sanders is publicly lobbying to be named Secretary of Labor. He won't get it. If you want to discuss what is leading your party, it's trumpism. Virtually every republican kow-tows to him because of his base. Privately 28 senators told Bob Woodward that they can't stand trump but they are cowards who are too afraid to cross trump. Look at McConnell, "moscow Mitch" is too afraid too drift too far from trump because he's afraid trump will fire is wife (Chao) through a tweet.

Let's just agree to disagree.

I thought it was a given we disagree, you want a socialistic overbearing government, and I want freedom, it's simple.

It is really surprising that you deal with gross exaggerations and stereotypes and call it the truth. Really, who are you to tell me what I want in a government? I'm clearly no socialist, I've already disavowed the left extremists.

I didn't vote for trump the first time around but I thought "he's my president, I hope he succeeds." He failed miserably. History will be very unkind; he'll likely be regarded as one of the five worst presidents in our history. Now trump is doing everything he can to tie the hands of the incoming administration. His outrageous lies, hypocrisies and flat out lack of concern for the good of the country should bother all citizens but apparently, trump has successfully poisoned the minds of his supporters. All you right wingers are hoping Biden fails because trump has convinced you to think like that... it's that simple.

Biden already failed, a winner never cheats to settle an election. If you support a socialist regime like the democratic party that promises more laws, more control, the abolishment of personal rights and freedoms, what am I supposed to think? If you support the democratic party you are supporting their agenda, how can you vote for them and claim you don't support them?

Pure HS. You really swallowed the cool-aid. I could not disagree with you more. No sense in continuing.

To be great the citizens need a living wage, universal health care, and the metric system would bring the USA toward being a great nation similar to those of the industrialized world.

The USA is behind in so many areas while we beat our chest and proclaim our greatness. The Trump hat is a strong message that positive change is needed, if only he had carried thru with making our nation great again. At least he admitted that our nation is not presently great, else how could it be made great "again?"

As near as I can tell, the dimmer switch has only been turned in one direction, away from capitalism. It used to be the promise of a decent reward for a job well done inspired immigrants to move to the US, now a vast number come for the handouts.

The concept of a living wage reduces productivity and entrepreneurial spirit. Why bust your hump starting a business like a restaurant where you're likely the only one NOT taking a salary to pay all your revenue to low-skilled labor in the form of a living wage. The concept of a living wage is truly moronic and will destroy small businesses and cause massive unemployment.

Does the burger flipper deserve the same wage as an executive assistant or a practical nurse? Do you really want to encourage anyone entering the workforce to remain in an entry-level position?

It's easy for a lot of the retired crowd on this forum to pontificate on the distribution of wealth being earned now by those still in the workforce. I know you deserve what you have, but I'd be willing to bet that most young democrats don't. Someone like the future president AOC might look at your wealth and decide you and your heirs don't need everything you have.
