My cable and internet service has been abysmal these last few months with frequent cable interruption and and internet speeds so slow I sometimes forget where I was linking to.

I just received a new price sheet and every plan has a price increase. Some of the decrease in service is understandable because of the increased activity due to Covid but to increase costs at a time when many people are struggling to stay afloat is outrageous. This is one of the richest companies in the country.

Comcast how unscrupulous can you get?

If you are experiencing this as well let them know how you feel.

A couple months ago, I called Comcast for our annual “rate for the following year” dance. It’s been an early ritual for the past 9 years. I actually fared well this last time, but the CS rep I spoke with kind of warned me that things were probably going to change soon (?). In what way, I asked. His story was that they were changing their pricing structure to add more flexibility options (whatever that means) making annual negotiations unnecessary. But, that I should expect a slight (?) price increase. I laughed and said that it sounds like a setup to me. The issue with my service is that Comcast offers by far the fastest internet service available. Our only other option is Century Link. 👎

I had comcast. They raised my rate...
Switched to ATT they were cheaper and now have 1GB speeds.
If you want, you can then switch back to Comcast after you have finished your ATT term, you are now considered a new customer. When talking to ATT don't agree right away - they will increase their offer...

Spectrum raised my Internet access by $5.00/month beginning this month. Time lo look over my options to see if I have any alternatives.

I have a different issue, in that they will not accept my money. I paid my Comcast bill through my bank as I have done for more than 10 years but this time they sent the payment back to the bank with the explanation that the account # was incorrect. I called my bank spent a long time on the phone only to find that they had all the same account # that I had which was the same # that I had been using for many years. At that point, I called Comcast and after 15 mins.of listening to all the robo messages and saying no to all those options I was finally put in a queue to talk to an actual person where I waited for over an hour for someone to pick up. When I finally got to explain why I was calling to that person they had no clue what to do so I went through the whole chain of command which I believe involves them simply passing the phone to the person next to them and each one said the same thing except with each person, my account balance kept changing sometimes by just a little and sometimes by up to 100 dollars. after another outrageous half hour of that and them telling me to come to their location which is not anywhere near me to pay in person or I could mail it in to which I said if they didn't have my correct account # that would still not help So they finally agreed to check and they DID have the same account # So i said ok I'll go through my bank again Guess what happened ...same damb thing After receiving 2 more bills With the new months' charge on each one and each one being sent back I again called Comcast with almost identical results and time on the phone So I canceled my service and told them they could come and get their equipment to which they said I would have to deliver it to them because they don't do pick-ups, I laughed and told them if they want it come and get because I don't do deliveries And alsoI would try to pay my bill one more time and if they sent it back they would not hear from me again unless they wanted to take me to small claims court to which i would gladly go with proof from the bank that I have been trying my best for months to pay this bill and they will not except my payment Final bill came I paid it it was sent back. Their move.I'm waiting

I have Spectrum internet but I haven't heard about or seen a $5.00 price increase - yet. However I get half the 100 mbps speed they claim. But that is with my laptop that is wi-fi connected with the modem. I'll have to try again later with my desktop computer which is direct connected to the modem.

Getting half the advertised (and perhaps delivered) speed over wifi is normal. The closest you’ll ever get is with a hard wired connection. Add an extender, and the wifi speeds halves again.

I had Comcast for years and my wife fought with them every month over billing issues. We had many service interruptions as well.

Over 2 years ago we moved and had only 2 options for cable service, the Dish, or Optimum. Since the Dish was not a consideration with went with Optimum. It may be hard to believe, but they are the worse cable company ever. There hasn’t been a day where we didn’t have to unplug, reset, lose our WiFi, phone disconnects, and spend hours on the phone trying to fix their crappy service.

There have been so many complaints that the Township created a complaint line, and posted a phone number specifically for us to call a Optimum representative directly. Did any of this help, absolutely not! My HOA, and the town are looking at some sort of class action lawsuit. Lets see if anything is accomplished.

I'm connected directly via ethernet cable and have an extender at the other end of the house with wifi connections ( TV, Alexa, phones, Fire Stick).

With the ethernet the 1gb at best is 25% most of the times and much less the other times. The wifi connections
are considerable less all of the times. They drop me frequently.

I'm waiting for AT&T to install optical cable in my area and the second it is in place Comcast will be history.

I have had all the problems that you all have. My only internet source was thru Cox (All these companies are the same. Increase the price anytime they can.)
Recently received a flyer from T-Mobile. They now offer internet service but only in a few areas at this moment. Luckily I am in one of those areas. Service is over the air. No wires, to a modem provided by them.

Price is only $50/month. No extras, even includes taxes. They guarantee will never increase. Tried it for a couple of weeks. Worked perfectly with my own router. So called Cox and cancelled my subscription. So far the best thing I ever did. Gives me a 50 mps service which is more than enough for all the internet I need and all the TV streaming too
