The wind whips through this treeless country and it is easy to see why life gets discouraging.

A beautiful photo, though. But cheer up - I hear there's a woman behind every tree out there! Imagine when a trip to town meant 8 hours on horseback - each way!

Yes, I remember scenes like that in the days before hydramatic drives.

I wonder if the races still take place between cars and Roadrunners anymore ?

Great capture of an interesting scene. Tough to figure out the verticals, though. Ahhh, the joys of shooting wide-angle :) Please stay well and keep on sharing.

Beautiful capture, this one tells a sad story, Jim! You are the master of these shots.

Wonderful story-telling shot! On a sunny day I think it looks beautiful, but the thought of snow on the ground and the unbroken winter wind freezing your bones is VERY discouraging! Brrr!

I agree, a beautiful but sad image. Nicely done, Jim.

I really like it. It does need some perspective adjustment, though.

Now that is funny about the woman behind every tree! The closest town of any consequence is 40-50 miles and then it is a small town by most standards!!

No road runners til you get about 300 miles to the south. Driving the powdered dirt road to get here left a cloud about 1/4 mile...it is a dusty drive!!

I know, the windmill is actually listing to starboard and the building is listing about 10* to port, there isn't a level, straight side on this sagging structure!! This view doesn't show the building leaning to the left

Thank you and you know the feeling winter brings to this northern prairie. The wind was whipping through when I took this photo and it was a cold wind!!
