My son sent me a crystal ball to experiment with new shooting effects. This was shot in St. Petersburg at The Don CeSar Hotel. I was pleased with the results especially with the sunsets. Still not sure which is my favorite. Shot with Nikon D-850, 70-200 2.8.

Well done - I have never been able to master that technique.

Great results.
I've tried several times & find the crystal balls that are light enough for me to lug around are too small for good results.
Perhaps I ought to have another go with my 4" one (and stay near the car!).

Rob, Great series.Your experiements thanks to your son look great. Each image is awesome. I recently got one but have not gone out yet with it. I understand the goal also is to use Photoshop to reverse the image in the ball. Stay well and safe and show us more.Stan

Very cool. Could be a cheap "fish-eye" lens if you crop tight. Though I like the entire image as is for most of you photographs there.

I would imagine manual focus? And some experimenting with F-stops?

Great shots, my favorite is the sunset with solid orange background.

They are definitely heavier than I expected but I was at a hotel and just needed to carry to the beach. Not too bad.
