I never complained about the used equipment I have purchased from various people/vendors. Don't worry as you would be the last person I would buy from.

It's funny that they charged my card as soon as I placed the order, but I have to wait for them to credit my account.

Your post was nothing but a dirty laundry post, you should be ashamed. Of course they charge your card, when you go to a store and buy something, they don't charge you right away? Of course they do.
What, you expect them to wait to charge your card until you get it?
Have you NEVER bought on line before.
Again, you are a retailers worst nightmare. Stay away.

Billnikon; You must have a pretty empty and pathetic life if all you do is monitor this site and what I write. You are a pathetic person. My point was they were quick to take my money, but very slow in returning it.

FYI I have purchased merchandise from Adorama on and off for the past 36 years, yes when they were on 34th St on the 2nd and 3rd floors, when the owner Moshe Mendel would walk through the store. I was friendly with Bruce, Tibor and Chaim Alter a/k/a Walter. The problem is not Adorama itself but some of the people working there,

Again, a dirty laundry post. You should still be ashamed of yourself, bigtime.

You should be ashamed of yourself starting an argument that you have nothing to do with.

bioteacher, if you're still in Brooklyn, and able to travel, maybe a face to face visit would resolve the issue faster and with finality to everyone's satisfaction.

I think posting it here took care of the problem. When I called at 2 today, all of a sudden the problem was corrected. The rep apologized and said it should not have taken this long.

Gentlemen: While I’m not an Admin, I wish we could put aside hostilities. While I am very sympathetic to someone not receiving merchandise, I do believe that a contingency plan be in place shoul the item not come in the mailbox. As to venting, you are well within your right to express yourself. Go back to the contingency plan in place. This problem will get resolved.
And to the other Hogger, I can understand your loss of patience. But it really isn’t warranted and neither is hostilities. Give someone the chance to vent because one day you might need to vent.
We share a common theme here. We all are photographers of differing skills and experience. I’m here to learn, share and grow. I started way back in high school over 40 years ago. I am still learning.
With the Pandemic in our midst, every one is intent on eradicating this virus. No medication, whether it is old or new, or even a vaccine with beat this virus. What needs to work effectively is that everyone respect each other by following guidelines such as wearing a mask. If the virus does not have a host to thrive, it will die out. Let’s all be respectful of each other and wish our friends famililies co- workers and even acquaintances Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I could put it in dispute and I could prove I am right, but who needs to hassle? I know Adorama well as I worked there 34 years ago when they were on 34th St. across from Macy’s.

138 West 34th St - 212-564-4465. I was a regular there in the early 80s. But they were a tough bunch when it came to customer service. They are better now that they only have one real competitor in NYC.

The last info I had for a contact at Adorama to handle such problems was Helen@Adorama.com

Don't know if she is still there, but if not, then ask for someone in a managerial position.

I feel bioteacher's frustration and why they vented.

I had a problem with Adorama a few years ago - two lenses for Canon DSLR. I tracked it to Atlanta and then saw it being returned to the store (about ten days watching it all the way down and all the way back). I contacted the service department via Chat and asked when they would ship it again. The reply I got was stunning - they wouldn't as any returns would go back on the shelf with no exceptions. I would have to order the same lenses from them again to get what I wanted 10 days earlier. BTW the return was based on UPS' website explanation of the label either missing or smudged (but they had the tracking number?)

I then asked for a refund (credit back to my CC). I ordered the same two lenses from B&H the same day Adorama said they would not reship the lenses I already paid for. I paid expedited shipping this time so I could have them in two days versus 7 or 10.

Now I have two charges on my card and a month later we either had to pay the full bill or pay the one from B&H and hope that the credit was forthcoming from Adorama. I asked Adorama for a refund ASAP - they have the money and the lenses. Not Fair!

The other part of the story was I bought these through Amazon so brought them into the fray. They said I should contact the vendor and I said I already did that and nothing was happening. I said I bought them through you (Amazon) so you should resolve the issue. They wanted 48 hours so i gave them that time. When I contacted them again they wanted an additional 24 hours. My threat to both Amazon and Adorama was I would turn it over to the CC company and let them handle it. Well, Amazon came through within the next 24 hours.

Using a CC for purchases are usually a good form of insurance from foot dragging merchants.

You know, coming here and complaining about a really good company too early, is, in my opinion, in very bad taste. A normal person would just continue to work with Adorama until the case is resolved. Which, I am confident that Adorama will take care of you and you will be compensated in the end.
Patience is a virtue, you should try it next time.
And PS, please do not buy any of my used equipment that I sell here from time to time.

I think you are way of base. If UHH didn't think this post wasn't worth putting up it wouldn't. If it offends you what this fella stated don't read it, do you think that you are the gatekeeper of UHH? Guess what, you're not!
Lighten up a little and a Happy Thanksgiving and a very, very Merry Christmas too. Hope I didn't offend you....
