We live on a farm that dates to the late 1800's. I was using my metal detector around the old farmhouse and found this really old coat button. It is only a 1/2 inch in diameter but has some great detail of hunting dogs.

I was trying to find the history on this old button but haven't found anything yet.

How exciting! Love vintage treasures. Just looking at the download. Such art on a button. By all means frame this special find and enjoy over and over.

Great find, you never know what you can find around old places like you have. I have read about some real treasurers found and they are normally in places where people were not expected to be digging around. I have a friend that dug up a box with gold coins in it (just a few) while grading for the construction of a storage building. Before banks were trusted, people hid their treasures.

I posted earlier, but I guess it didn't make it for some reason.

I found the exact same brass image mounted on an abalone shell here:

Ireland is good for finding treasure. We were there about the time they found a million dollars in coin in Dublin. Wow, what a find.
