Went to purchase kodak ink cartridges and found they were no longer available. Even amazon only carries compatible ink not genuine kodak. Whats the deal?

Google says Kodak quit selling inkjet printers in 2012. They said they would keep selling ink for them for a while, but I guess that time is up.

Good chance on ebay. BTW, Kodak photo paper, which is still made, is excellent.

Possibly COSTCO can refill them. They have that service in the photo dept.

He's looking for genuine Kodak ink, and I doubt Costco would refill them with that.

That's one reason I didn't even consider buying a Kodak printer. They supposedly had cheaper ink, but I doubted they would stay in the printer business for very long. You should be okay with generic ink. Try Ink123 and other online sellers. Maybe there's something online about the best generic ink for the Kodak.

The new printers from Epson have codes in them to not accept any third party inks.

And for that reason I would never buy an Epson printer. Even though I would actually continue to buy genuine Epson inks. Part of 'right to repair'.

My Epson XP-960 objects and slaps my wrists when I load non-Epson ink cartridges, but if I click "continue" it continues to load. However, to prevent another string of "personally I would never use third party ink" posts, let me add that I have gone back to the "real" Epson inks.
