Can I get an honest review of the ....
I have the first version and I use it with a 5DIV and 7DII and it is great I am told the 2nd version is better. I don't know how but OK. I would have no concern about it. PS you get 6 year warranty with it.
Here is an updated version of an article that came out right after Tamron introduced the G2. It goes over all 4 150-600's on the market currently.
Basically it says the best IQ is a tie Sigma C & Tamron G2. Build and weather proofing a tie Sigma S & Tamron G2.
But in the original article from years ago (I lost it, so don't ask.) the author stated they all gave publishable results for wildlife etc.

Did it really take up that much of your important time? If it did what are you doing on here in the first place?
The tamron G2 is my go-to bird photography lens handheld or on a monopod. Has been since itโs introduction. I may be happier with a Nikon f4 600mm, but that might have to wait until my ship comes in. Most wildlife pictures on my website were taken with this lens. mrtk.smugmug.com it locks in pretty well in decent light though not always for flying birds at a distance at 600mm. It hunts a bit, but if I back off 600mm it helps me find the bird and then I can maintain the lock at 600mm. Picture quality is very good to excellent particularly when I can fill a good part of the frame with the subject. Itโs a practical weight for handholding and shooting birds in flight. on
I had the G2 for Nikon. It did a great job in good light, but I found a/f slowed down as soon as the light started to dim. I am a fan of fast lenses, so I was probably asking too much of this lens. From what I have read, and a few people I spoke to who own the lens, it provides great results at a reasonable price.

We would all be happier, and the search function would work better, if more folks would follow Admin's advice to post descriptive titles.

And now you've wasted even more of your "valuable" time by commenting.
And not even a nice comment.

Th title was clear that that the OP wanted a review.
All of our comments about not liking the title (including this one) are off topic.
So ... if a title doesn't grab you, don't click on it. If you click on it anyway, at least give a proper on topic response before turning the thread into a gripe session. If you are really pressed for time, move on without crying.

I have the 150-600 G2, Canon mount and really like it. Use mostly for wildlife and grandkids sports. Rarely hand hold due to weight, I'm 73, but it works quite well with mono or tri pod. The attached image was at 600mm on a 7D II using a monopod.
If you have the time to put someone down for not fully expressing the specific details in the title, you are not so tied up to read it and complain. The next time you will be complaining the title was too long.
See I have time on my hands to be picky, picky, picky.

The guy wanted advice not put downs.
Have fun and take more pictures.
I purchased the Tamron 150 x 600 G2 in August for budgetary reasons. I read many reviews and viewed many You Tube videos. I thought I would be purchasing a second quality lens. NO WAY! from the first day shooting with it I was impressed with its clarity and ease of use. Took it to the Conwingo dam to shoot Eagles and was able to obtain some good action shots. In my opinion the lens was much better than the reviews. The photos that others have downloaded here speak to the quality of the lens.
In the end you may be better off renting it first and basing a decision on some use.
