One A Day, Day 194.

SAMHAIN 2020.
I will get straight to the point. I was bored on Halloween (we pagans call it Samhain) and I was alone and decided, because it was such a nice day out, I would make a few images. As I was out puttering about, some odd sense of movement, no, perhaps more a play of the light in the garden was occurring. I was preparing to making an image or planned to make an image of a dying flower that had been on the bloom this last day of October, and so there I was. October 31st, last day of the month, afternoon before night descended. Honestly, a certain sense of foreboding arouse in me, a chill ran down my spine, vary odd indeed!

Then Miss Maggie, my brother's cat came prancing up to me, as I was preparing to advanced toward the potted plant with the expiring orange flower bud (yes, an orange bud, so odd as it is the color of that sacred Samhain time! This was not lost to myself).

All of a sudden Maggie arched her back and a long hiss issued from her with mouth wide open, fangs displayed by pulling back her thin pinkish lips. Thus my advance was halted. Another hiss and a low moaning, as cats will do when they are being defensive, but also aggressive. I was a bit surprised to say the least. Then as cats will often do, as if nothing had been a bother, she relaxed her aggressive posturing, she actually calmed herself. Then that fairly common yet disconcerting thing that cats will do, she calmly stared out into empty space. She seemed how amused!

Well, perhaps this, then that, who can understand this bazaar cat behavior. But then remembering the odd sensation that I myself had just had, I acted as if nothing was of any interest, I adjusted focus to the lens and fiddled with the other technical issues of exposure, all the while that strange feeling that I was being observed. My brother's cat Maggie had now settled down and was acting detached, one might say indifferent, yet there she remained, seated in no way concerned. I was thinking, perhaps it was nothing, just that idiotic thing that cats do day in and day out, as if they are drugged or worse bored and attempting self amusement.

I then turned the camera towards the empty space in front of me and made a quick snap shot of the Rose Window that is the center piece of the garden's green house. The cat remained calm and generally indifferent to my photography endeavors but remained rooted to the spot.

Because it is close to impossible to 'chimp' the camera's view screen in any daylight setting, I retired to the solarium for a look at the results. To my utter amazement and with some trepidation, there in the subdued light, away from the sunny haunts of the garden, I was presented with a view into the world of cats and their visionary grasp that is not part of human norm! Some creature sat in the window of the garden green house. Perhaps some magical being from across the divide of time and space.

I calmed myself remembering the controversy of a century or more past, of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the little girls who made images of the People of the Fay. Most unsettling and yet 'Why surprise old fellow!' After all night was descending on All Hallows Eve in the year of the modern plague! "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down!"

George is a friend among Hog people, so he won't mind this one little bit. Most of the photos posted on here are by regular folks, I'm of course not one of them, I'm one of 'those' crazy people. Nothing arbitrary in what I do. In the written narrative one runs across references and they are never out of context. The pointing to the People of the Fay is critical to 'seeing' the image.

I know, Tim is crazy, simple as that. No, I just like to live at the cross roads, I delight in Loci and the trickster. I tend to live in the belief world and shy from the tick tock world of the sleep of the standard road taken by most. My road does not rest at the right, left or center, I'm content to hold up at the cross roads, the intersection of time and being.

Most here just hate distractions, call it tails from the belief world, so here are some details from the original post, just blown up to show the location of what is of interest. Enjoy! (As the idiot middle class house wifery silliness goes for expressions).

Animals raised by people think they are people, this proves the inverse; People raised by animals, in this case a mother cat, think they are cats. The real cat looks pissed that she is still just a cat and not transitioned into a people. I surmised this by observing the first photo and seeing the cat looking disgusted in the last.

A story well told in two frames.

"Animals raised by people think they are people", the critical word here is 'think'. One wonders if that word 'think' has anything to do with Descartes? "I think, there for I am" seems a bit too much to attribute to any feline, though my sense of it all as a pagan is that all sentient beings do have a soul. Perhaps an extreme of Buda. So I guess one might argue if the rock in the forest that one kicks is aware of have been so poorly attended to. I suppose it is best to maintain an open mindedness to such things.

Perhaps it is not the leash, maybe, then again it could be the sprite framed in the window. Then again, I probably have too much imagination for such literal interpretations of the real world! LOL!!!

The model is wearing a stocking one piece that is topped by a lace top, it is all one piece. It is 'open crotch' style, many women now wear this style of 'panty hose' as it is practical in keeping the genitals free to 'breath' and so keep from encouraging the growth of nasty things like bacteria and other types of fungal infections.

So, no, it is not duct tape. Duct tape is a George Bush and the director of bone head security notion. (Who would put duck tape on a models skin?)

That is such a weird admission! Bestiality? That cat is my brothers best buddy and I am sure she does not sleep around, not that Maggie 'sleeps' with my brother, he's gay!
