Oh, that's a shame. He was quite a character.

The first James Bond movie I saw was Dr. No. I'll never forget that fight he had with the villain inside a train compartment. He eventually received a Supporting Best Actor Oscar for the movie the Untouchables. He was a very versatile actor indeed. The Hunt For Red October showed his versatility. Also, best friends with Michael Caine. The Scottish actor will be remembered. RIP.

Request has been made to move it - main discussion gets enough pollution as it is.

I think you're remembering "From Russia, With Love".

He was one of my favorite actors, and really brought James Bond to life from the novels. Oddly, he wasn't a favorite of Ian Fleming at the outset, but after Fleming saw him, he knew that Connery was 007. One of the things that Connery brought to the James Bond character was his portrayal of the danger, something none of his successors seemed to be able to do.

He also did a lot of movies which I love to watch to this day: "Robin and Marian", "The Wind and The Lion", "The Man Who Would Be King", "The Presidio", and "Outland", among others.

Rest In Peace

PS - James Bond preferred his martinis stirred, not shaken. Shaking bruised the vodka.

You are correct. It was From Russia With Love. I saw Dr. No afterwards.

I'm shocked...No, I'm Gobsmacked!
Don't you all know how politically un-cool he was? You didn't see the interview where he said that any woman needs to be slapped around occasionally just to keep them in line? Just think if he was running for any political office! Just think if he had any statues erected in his honor! Just think if he had a star on the Hollywood Stars sidewalk! Shame on you all!

I read a story years ago about Sean Connery. It said that he had such presence that if you had your back to the door and he walked into the room, you immediately turned around. That's star power.
