Múltiple empty Canon Albums on my IPAD

My IPad has 100s of empty Canon Albums, created mysteriously. I suspect that this is caused by Canon Camera Connect. I tried to delete them, but this must be done one at a time and it is tedious. It almost seems that, as I delete them, they multiply. It’s like a zombie album plague. Has anybody else experienced this? Are there any practical solutions? Thank you.

I guess that's the unwritten benefit of using Nikon equipment. My iPad doesn't have mysterious albums appearing, as if by magic.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That does seem unusual. I have two thoughts here. Try to highlight all the files you wish to delete as one block and then delete. If this does seem to work, try bringing it to a recovery place. This place may find a similarity in the files and be able to diagnose the issue. Good Luck!

Happy Shooting!

If you can, you might try deleting the cache files in Camera Connect. Just a thought!

Don't have any experience with Apple but on my Windows laptop instead of deleting one at a time I move everything into one folder and then delete that folder.

Yes, I have had that problem in the past also. And yes, sorry, but they can only be deleted one at a time. It was easier to do the deletion on my iMac than the iPad where I could select several files, one at a time, then delete them all.
The files get generated whenever you download wirelessly to the iPad or computer. And it does seem to be generated by the Canon Connect software. Just be sure to delete that file whenever you transfer wirelessly and you’ll be able to stay ahead of it. The file is almost always empty and if there are photos they are duplicates. You may want to think about using a card reader dongle for your iPad.

I have never heard of this problem. It might be a good idea to bring this to the manufacturer for a bug fix

With the way the OS keeps updating I’m not sure if the app will continue to be updated to match. Right now it’s a non issue for me as I only download raw files for conversion on the iMac and then add them after processing to IPhoto for sharing from the iPad. It’s all on ICloud that way and my files get stored on the externals for future use.
I find that if I wirelessly transfer my raw files from the camera to the iPad, it will send a camera generated jpeg without any EXIF info and a huge loss in data. Ok for quick review or sharing but not a good long term solution.

Have you tried to copy and paste the albums with something in them, maybe to a whole new folder? Then delete the folder with all the emtpty ones?
(If I'm missing the mark completely, sorry, but I don't have an I-pad....)

Not to change the subject. Do you think a non pro ipad (10.2", 7th gen) would be good enough to move photos to for storage while traveling?

Any IPad is a good travel companion to store your photos, while traveling. However, I would no longer rely on any camera connect app. The Apple USB-C to SD Card reader works amazingly well. It is inexpensive (less than $40) and small. There are also several after market units that are much cheaper, but I don’t have any experience with them. I wish I had my card reader when I went on my African Safari.
