Thank you Jake for looking in on my ongoing travelogue and taking the time to comment. Interesting comment you made: I don't know how to electronically flip this image, so I tried to look at it by turning my head upside down - gave me one heck of a neck-pain, but I am ok again. What I think I did see was sort of like a waterfall, is that what you meant? Thanks for thinking "outside of the box" - Joe

I saw several things such as a beautiful waterfall or a snow covered mountain surrounded by snow, but it certainly got my imagination working

Thank you Jake, you sort of "opened up my window" to push me into some more creative thinking or "looking"! Thanks and please keep tagging along, this was a beautiful trip, I did another posting today. Take care - Joe.

Very nice. Lived there for a year and half while in the military back in early 70's. I really enjoy all the photo's and the memories. Thanks.

Love the composition of all this wave action Joe!! Those overlapping patterns are very intriguing.

Thanks Rob, I always get mesmerized by these waves, in Iceland they work out particularly well as the sand most of the time has this deep black color which is just perfect to offsett the white foamy waves.

Hello Joe,

Thanks for pointing me to series #'s 6 & 7. I did miss seeing these two posts and all that you posted during the period 10/4 - 10/12/2020 as we were in GTNP. I was off the web the entire time and missed all posts to my favorite photo sites. We do check email and texts on our cell phones and that is all...I want to get away from the world and take a breather, beholding to nothing!! When we return I start fresh and don't go back to see what I missed while gone...I would never get current. Now home, I've done a first pass cull of ~2800 photos and reduced them to 1477!! A lot of those remaining are "burst" shots of wildlife and it takes me time trying to winnow those down, so I won't be doing much in the way of responses.

Now, #6 & 7 Are both solid and your photos made excellent series...strong compositions, execution and presentations. You take more pride and time assembling your posts than the majority of posters, myself included. The longer you are here, your audience will grow. Occasionally my photos don't make the morning digest for whatever reason(s). Or, I post what I strongly feel is a superb photo/series and doesn't the audience numbers expected. Finally, don't get discouraged...too much of what happens on the "hog" is out or our control or understanding.

One more thought...to many viewers, Iceland/UAE eg. does not have the aura of Africa or old European villages. The charm factor is missing as is the excitement of being next to an elephant ten yards away...that sells! Also, Iceland has only recently become a popular destination. Professional fotogs are trying to be the first with new iconic images.

Anyhow, just my opinions and you know what they say about free advice!

Jim

Hello Joe, br br Thanks for pointing me to series... (show quote)

Thank you very much Jim for your thoughtful message. First of all, I know how it is, after I do a lenghty series here, I need to unwind and get away from it all for a while and at that time I touch almost nothing. Same when I am on a long trip, I might just occasionally look into other than the urgent mails. Then I come back and still "wade" through all the accumulated digests, just to be sure I didn't miss anything and that takes a lot of time.

Thanks for your comments on the sets 6 & 7, I am happy to hear that you liked them. I am quite aware that some of the subjects I have selected to present are of less interest to some of the viewers, on the other hand I feel like presenting some of the places that not everybody goes to - sort of a balancing act. I try to alternate between better known places and more exotic destinations, will continue to do so and eventually see what works best. As you have mentioned, I spend a lot of time organizing a lenghty presentation, like to have it in a logical array and would like to have most posts sort of rounded by themselves, which sometimes means discarding some images I would like to include, and the opposite sometimes that I include a shot or two that maybe I would not want to include. Still working on that - at least it keeps me on my toes and I very much do enjoy the interactions with the other UHH members.

Again, thank you very much for tagging along with the tour and your kind comments. Joe
