Monitor?

I have been looking at getting a new monitor for post processing.
I'd like: 27", 4K, high resolution(do I need 3840X2160?), both Adobe RGB and sRGB. What else should I consider?

Spent time at the BenQ site. The two that have caught my eye are:

PD 2700u ($539.00)
PD 2700pt ($599.00)

If you have used either monitor, what is your opinion?
In that price range, is there a better one?

Thanks

I have the 3200U, and I have been very happy with it. Excellent monito for the money. You will have to pay more than double to get a professional photo quality monitor, but this serves my needs quite nicely.

Be sure you have a graphics card that has a display port connection.

I'm happy with the Dell U2720Q monitor. It has your specs and is at the same price range.
I'll second that you should look at your graphics card to see if it supports the new monitor - resolution, connection (Display Port or HDMI).

If you are looking at Benq monitors, look at their Photovue monitors which are designed for photo editing. I have the Benq SW2700PT which is close in price to the PD models you mention.

The SW2700PT has both AdobeRGB and sRGB color spaces which you require. It also is a 27" monitor, but it is a 2K monitor, not 4K.

The PD2700U does not have AdobeRGB Color space. It has sRGB and Rec709 color space, which is the standard camera encoding color space for HDTV with a gamut identical to sRGB. For broadcast encoding, it is defined in 8-bit color depth (values between 0 and 255) where black is level 16, and white is level 235.

I can't speak to the performance of the Benq PD monitors when using them for photo editing, but I see others here have said they are happy with them. I am sure they will do a good job, and probably would be hard pressed to tell the difference between them side by side.

IMO though, it would make more sense to get a monitor that is designed for photo editing, specifically one with the AdobeRGB Color space that you said you are looking for, and also since photo editing is what you are looking to do using that monitor.

Just my 2ยข worth. Good luck with your monitor search and shopping.
