Nikon D200 wanted (FOUND)

I am interested in buying a decent condition D200 body for the purpose of converting it to IR useage for something to play with next Spring. Not looking to spend a whole lot on it, and I prefer the D200 due to the CCD sensor over the CMOS sensors.
If anyone has one of these lying around please let me know. Thanks.

Mt, I buddy of mine just offered me one for $400-450. Like New-Excel condition, I think he said 12,000+- acquisitions. He just bought the D800...I will call him later and see if he still has it. I wanted to buy it for my daughter but I had just purchased a 5100 for her. I'll get back to you.

I have a D200 that I bought and sent back to Nikon because of the banding issue that this model had. Shoots perfectly now and has a very low shutter count. Mske me what you feel is a reasonable offer and we'll go from there. I had to re-register because I couldn't remember my name/password combination, but I stop in every day and read what's gping on. Been doing so for a couple of years.

Who OR where will you use to make the conversion?
I am interested in this and don't know where to turn. I think you have probably researched this and have chosen someone to make the conversion. Would you share that info? Many thanks........................

Hi MT,

I have a D200 with low shutter count. The mirror locked up the other day and I had to pull the battery to unfreeze it. I've shot about 500 pix since then and no more problems but I can't trust it to take on a wedding shoot and expect it to "function in the heat of the battle." I'll let you have it for $250.00 if you are interested. Toll free at 1-888-243-3597 or cell 208-861-0564. Take care & ...

I have a D200 for sale. Bought it about 11 months ago with 7700 clicks and haven't used it much. It comes with original box, cables, manuals, hoodman eyepiece, battery grip, two batteries, charger. I want $425.00. I can't send pics of it as the "add attachment" feature of my computer isn't working.

I sold my D200 a few years ago but I think I still have the owners-instruction book that came with it. If you need it let me know. I'll send it to you- no cost , I can't throw books ( information away ) much to my wifes distain for hoarding books.

Hey MT,

I just saw a couple of Nikon D200s advertised in Craigslist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not sure if that helps. Let me know if I can help you out.

Question - is this camera NOT IR compatible - like my Lumix FZ18 is -I know that some digitals are & some - like you say need the conversion.
The reason I ask is i am soon going to get my son-in-laws "hand me down" d200 and have the R72 in a 55mm that I use on my FZ18.

Thanks everyone. I found the body I wanted. Now I am going to play with it for awhile just to get used to the sensor characteristics before I get it converted.
