Photographing Assateague ponies has frustrated me over the years. Most of them are not particularly photogenic and when you see them on the beach they are typically walking around eating grass ignoring most everything. Of course I am not going to add any kind of distraction for the sake of a better photo!
This opportunity, a week ago, was different!
This older mare was apart from the rest of the group and only intermittently putting her head down to eat grass. I turned the photo into B&W and added a bit of glow (Topaz Studio). I think she looks pretty elegant. Do you?

Nice editing job ! And the tail implies movement and makes the shot.
Usually the summer foals are photogenic, if only for the cute factor.

Thanks. Yes, it was the tail swish that made me select this one to process.

You are correct about how unphotogenic these ponies can be. But your's is a winner and a good looking example of a more preferred version and the B&W really improves the finished product.

I had tried to capture them on two attempts and decided to find better scenery & subject matter instead.
I just didn't have enough time to get to know them better and cater to their habits as I probably should have.

Nice work Henry.
