I waited for the Creative Live, John Greengo Fast Start videos on my DSLRs to go on sale and then bought. They are good “here’s what the buttons are for and why” videos. For my bridges and compacts, there’s always been a YouTube video that does the trick. I’ve also found that if you’re not switching camera brands, there are better ways of spending money than “how to” Creative Live videos. There was only one time than I found the CL video helpful and that’s when I owned a Sony a6000 with that hideous (imho) menu system.

Much prefer the printed bibles by Busch and by Young, waaaaaay better than the mfr’s manuals. OTOH, the mfr provides pdf which are searchable whereas paper books are not. Last on my list is video ... actually it’s not on my list at all. I found instructional videos just too annoying to watch, so I don’t.

Creative Live has some out standing videos. John Greengo has some fantastic instructional videos. I also have some series by Ben Wilmore, both his Lightroom and Photoshop. Agree, there is lots of FREE stuff on YouTube, but then you get what you pay for. Some of it is good, some not so good.

I will second the nod to John Greengo. Anything by him is outstanding and worth the time and the money!

The "Great Courses" has a large selection of very good photography courses that are tied in with National Geographic. I've been given several of the courses as gifts from my family and you know you have the best and presented by National Geographic photographers. Go to www.thegreatcoursles.com

Same in Gilford. Regrettably, I have had to return to NYC for a few months. I will be back mid to late October. No...leaf peeping this year.

Fall is the prettiest time of the year, but does one year look different from any other? Barely. Still, I drive around taking pictures.

If you want a different look, go to a different place.

The wife is there. I am in the city. I retired two years ago in December. I have a two-year consulting contract. Between COVID and the upcoming election there is a lot of; what if, to do
