Beautiful! I did a ukulele in that style.
Maybe the best exhibit I have ever seen.
Rare sanity in today's world !!! Shang
Thank you. I viewed Starry Night at the NY Met some time ago. It takes your breath away.
I know absolutely nothing about art, painting etc. But there is something about a Van Gogh that always amazes me. If I had the money he would be the only artist I would buy a painting.
Thank you for passing that on! I did the same.

Starry Night -- my wife's favorite painting. Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists along with Salvadore Dali and Andrew Wyeth. I saw this clip about a year ago but it never gets old. I don't know the singer in this clip but it was written by Don McClean and was on his album with American Pie. Anyone not familar with that album needs to treat themselves to a listen. In addition to the two songs already mentioned, Winter Wood is an absolutely beautiful song that never got much recognition because McClean wrote these songs out of sync with what was popular at the time. Ballads were not the rage in the late 60's and early 70's as rock was king and heavy metal was beginning to also beome popular.
I've never been a fan of Van Gogh, however, the means by which his paintings are exhibited in this museum is truly unique and gives them a life that I never found before in his works.

I read that The Starry Night is the most frequently bought painting online.
