Staying in Truro for a week and looking out for Photo Op ideas in Truro, Wellfleet, or Provincetown. I particularly would like to get a "street photography" portrait of a Oyster Fistherman in Well Fleet - any ideas how to pull that off?
Any other ideas for photo ops would be appreciated.
A few years back someone post a site called "
https://www.shothotspot.com/". Once you open the site and put in the city it gives you all sorts of options for places to take photos with filters for landscape, sunsets, etc. It's a pretty handy tool when you're in a unfamilar area. Have fun trip
Many thanks pwrxprt. Greatly appreciate the quick and helpful response.

They are not fishermen. They are farmers. The majority if not all the oysters harvested on the Cape are farmed. There is a lot of recreational harvesting in and around Welfleet, and on the Bay side of West Dennis Beach.
Wellfleet has the Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Truro has the Highland Light and miles and miles of Atlantic coast with seals, sharks, etc. Provincetown is just a party with lots of street and harbor photography ops. Not sure what you're looking for but you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Your comments were helpful.
I just hope there is a scruffy, old world Oyster Farmer that is agreeable to an unrehearsed portrait shot.
I am also taking my Infrared converted camera - not sure I will get with that, but I think it can't hurt.
Take an evening whale cruise out of Provincetown if the humpbacks are still there. We did it a month ago ago and were not disappointed!

At this time of the year the Milky Way is low in the southern sky. anywhere along the Hyannis to Chatham shoreline on Nantucket Sound you should get some outstanding night sky shots. LIttle Pleasant Bay in Orleans is particularly picturesque.

If you like a little recent history, North Truro, right by the lighthouse, is the site of a NORAD backup. Built in the 1960's, it was state of the art, swarming with Western Electric and GE engineers. Taken over by some art historical folks now, but neat place. I always hope they open up the site underground. Last time I was there one building was shown that they said was the operations center. Nope, I said, I opened this place up, and take down that piece of plywood, and there are numerous floors below. Nope, they said, nothing there. Not sure why, nothing secret after all these years, but they would not let me look behind the blocked off stairwell!

"P" Town (Provincetown) is a great place for street photos, the dock area and a good walk around. A ride along 6A or 6. At night make a reservation for Ciro and Sal for dinner. I don't know what their hours or seating is like with the Covid, great food and atmosphere.
Thanks for the insight.
I will definitely check it out (and try to get in).
Trader John:
Thanks for the suggestions, particularly the restaurants. My wife and I are "foodies" so we will put your suggestions to go use.
Not sure they’re still there but there are numerous bike trails that take you through the dunes to Herring Cove beach or Race Point. You can rent a bike in Provincetown. There are plenty of opportunities for street photos, especially in P’town. Hard to have a bad photo day where you’re going!

Thanks for taking the time to respond and the great advice.
I am really looking forward to the trip.
