I'm looking @ just 2 YONGNUO YN968N Wireless or GODOX V860II-N 2.4G TTL Li-on Battery Camera Flash. Need to make up my mind. Any thoughts?
Sorry guys. That was dumb of me. I'm just an amateur photographer. I don't do people shots. Wanted to add a decent speed light to my kit.

Why sorry? It’s a frequent question. I love my Godox flashes (5).
If you really get into it, Godox has probably the most extensive system on the market. Has radio transceivers in just about all of them. Lots of great YouTube videos on using them.
That being said, your pop-up flash can control most of the better Nikon Speedlights from the camera using infrared signal it gives off. It works well with some limitations.
Thanks. That really helps. Love the hog.
Are you planning on doing off camera flash? If so, definitely buy flashes with that in mind.
if you don't mind setting the flash manually, any old nikon used flash will get the job done for about 25 bucks.
Thank you. I have cash back on my card so was going to get a less expensive but good flash. Been saving up.
The yongnu you pick allows High Speed sync and a couple of other features, if you are just starting out possible the Yongnuo YN560 IV Speedlite which is a more manual flash and get the younguo 560 tx off camera controller. I have found them very dependable. I shoot with them 3 to for times a week using 2-3 flash units. One big advantage because I am always moving then and repositioning them outside model shoots is they happen to fall not very expensive to replace. They do bounce well thou. about 85 for each flash and 45 for the controller
Thank you for the info. Good to know.

I use Nikon and Metz speed lights but do have a Yongnuo as a back up and it is equally as powerful a flash as the other two, just a whole lot cheaper to buy. Either way you go, you will be happy with the flash. Since both are good, go with the less expensive one.
But don't get a cheaper manual flash, as has been suggested. I never understand why people suggest that, it is just not good advice, go with the best and most features you can afford. That way you can always work towards using all those functions and feature.
However, if you purchased the manual type, as soon as you have mastered it and need more features and functions, you now have to go and spend more money to get the better speedlight. The better featured ones cost very little more but offer you so much more when you are ready to use those functions.
Thank you so much. That's what I felt. I'm leaning toward the Godox now but not sure if it's a good idea to get the Li battery or stick with rechargeable AAs. I can carry extra of those easily.
The other advantage of the ttl system is I can learn by example too (adjusting with the histrogram).

If you shoot a lot of events like me, the Li pack is invaluable.
Since you’re just starting out, AA’s will probably be fine.
I only recently got Li powered speedlights.
Adorama’s Flashpoint speedlights are rebranded Godox.
I actually have a mix.
Have heard warranty may be better through them but haven’t had the need.
Thanks. I'll look. Was going to buy thru Amazon prime.

I order things from Amazon, but if you have any problems with them, Amazon won’t have anyone to answer a technical question. Just my $.02.
Ok I confirmed with Adorama that it comes with the charger (thought it did but doesn't show on website). I think I'll take your advice & order from them - better support.
Thanks fellow hoggs.
