Mournful Sphinx Moth (Enyo lugubris), in the yard last night.

In September, one year ago, there was a small gathering of Monarchs along a local hiking trail in Falmouth, Maine. These were taken handheld. Nikon D90 and Tamron zoom lens. Maybe they were preparing for their migration.
