I love to double-click on these photos and see the faces of these people up close. Thank you for sharing your great adventure.
Thank you Luen for visiting my travelogue. I am happy you enjoyed the trip, and these pictures are good for people watching - you sort of have a captive audience sitting on these wooden benches and watching you taking pictures of them!
An interesting collection, indeed. Very colorful and well done.

The interesting people on those boats all tell a story. I especially enjoyed the guy with the camera taking a photo from the boat. If you are out there, let us see it!!!!!
Thank you Ted for looking in again and your comment. Wouldn't it be nice to hear the story of some of these people!
Great boat ride and tour, Joe.

What are the average temperatures in Dubai? Is the humidity high?
Great set Joe. All of your waterfront photos are magnificent. Love the expressions and body language in#8 - they all look so enthusiastic!

Thanks for looking in on our long-running travelogue, Gary.
Dubai is definitely a hot place located in the Hot desert climate (by the Köppen system): daily averages run from 75F as a low in January to a high of 106 in August, with extremes recorded at 120F. Because it is situated at the water's edge of the Persian/Arabian gulf, it gets as an extra bonus also the humidity with averages of 50% to 60% and in the hot summer months over 90%. The average sea temps could also reach into the 90's F. Not a temp pattern for me to live permanently, but an interesting place to visit, particularly the Old Dubai, as I have stated repeatedly. Joe

Thank you Mark for your kind comment. I had to scoot back to #8 to see which one you were referring to: Yes, they look to me to be mainly working stiffs that have to run from one side of the creek to the other, with the temperature probably around around 90F and a humidity of 70% or whatever, I guess the enthusiasm wanes pretty quickly - and just about all of them wear long sleeve shirts! - Upon closer inspection, I actually realized that one of them is a woman, so my header of "an all male crowd" is a bit off - I must look closer in future before making definite statements ....
Epic windows into another reality entirely....
So intriguing... so beautifully done...
Noticed that these folks are not on calorie restricted diets...
All appear to be well nourished and in lovely wardrobe...
Guess petroleum dollars abound...
Thank you for sharing... totally amazing for sure...
Love these shots, Joe. The color and the water is great. The old-style, wooden ferry boats are beautiful against the classic and modern city buildings. Greatly enjoyed it.

Thank you Thomas for looking in on my travelogue and your very kind comment.
Dubai can be and is fantastic place, sort of sitting between two worlds - the sophisticated West and the down-to-earth Middle East, of course all seen through a filter of the petroleum riches - even though these now play a very minor role in Dubai's economy. I do by far prefer the colorful and earthy vibes down here at the Creek compared to the glitzy ultra-modern but rather soul-less accumulation of buildings in the new Downtown.
Again, thank you very much for dropping in and taking the time to comment - very much appreciated.
