I have been on UHH for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoy reading it nearly everyday. I have a Nikon D7500 with a Sigma 150-600 Contempary and love it but due to its weight decided to venture slowly into Mirrorless. I have 3 E-series lenses I used on a Olympus E-620 DSLR many years ago before going with Nikon. Recently purchased a good used Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless from B&H for $319.00 and an adapter so I can use the Olympus E-Series lenses. So far the results seem quite good. Any UHH folks doing anything similiar. Larry H.

It would be interesting to view a couple of your shots. The Pro level E-M1 had rave reviews when it was launched.
I think it's more M43 than mirrorless that lightens the load, although the E-M1 was quite large for M43

I have been shooting an Olympus EM 1 Mark ll for about 3 years now, and I shoot with the Olympus 12-100 pro and the 300mm F4 pro and I absolutely love that camera and both of those lenses are tack sharp. Check out some of my photos at facebook.com/RayReederPhotography

I currently have my feet in two systems. The two best systems, Sony and Nikon. I am going slow.

In June 2019, after 50 years as a Canon SLR & DSLR shooter, I switched to the Olympus EM1M2, the 14-150mm. 9-18mm, 60mm macro and the 75-300mm. None of my lenses are the "pro" lenses but all are very sharp. I have not longed for the heavier setup since I switched. The Oly technology is incredible and the system compact and light.

That’s what I did. Nikon to Olympus and have never had a single moment of regret. I just upgraded to an Oly m5 III. I didn’t keep any of my Nikon gear.

👍👍 Nikon to OM - D-E M1 MarkII with Oly 12-100 and Pan 100-400 and couldn't be happier.

Ray - You have some great pictures, especially your cover of Paintsville. I am an enthusiastic amateur concentrating mostly on birds and wildlife. I am 77 and good health with a bum shoulder that makes handling the Sigma 150-600 challenging at times. Your 300 Pro looks like a fantastic lens but not in my budget range. Thank you for responding. Larry go with the Olympus body of your choice and the 75-300 it is the same equivalent as your Sigma, much lighter, sharp and affordable. I went with this lens due to its size, flexibility as a zoom and weight.

I use Olympus cameras and I also have the EM-1 but I only use the lenses made for the camera. I have an assortment of Panasonic and Olympus lenses for use with my Olympus bodies.

Thank you Larry, look into the Panasonic 100-400, it's also a great lens.

I have been shooting M43 since circa 2005. M43 has been my go-to adventure and travel kit. Two years ago I purchased and OM-D, E-M5, and I love it. It has become my go to carry around camera. So yes doing similar, except for many years now.

Your Nikon will soon be gathering dust, poor thing! May it RIP.

I do have and use the 4/3rds to micro 4/3rds adapter along with an Olympus film lens adapter. The 4/3rds adapter supposedly slows the imaging ability, but I have never noticed a difference in speed between the 4/3rds with the adapter and the micro 4/3rds lenses. It may take sophisticated equipment to actually determine the difference. Other than that and that the film lenses are full manual and have to be shot in aperture mode, they shoot perfectly well.
