I got so much stuff in the garage at my photograpy space it's a real rats nest. I just keep piling it up one thing on top of the other that I have no space for my feet under the computer table. I prop my feet on a AC to DC converter for ham radio which I basically gave up 8 years ago. Loosing something in this mess is often but I usually find it in a hour or two. So you think you got problems?

I used tp be concerned I was a bit of a hoarder. No longer!! thank you UHH contributors for illuminating me that after 70 odd years I am a mere beginner at collecting 'precious sh*t' as a good friend once described all the crud he had in his garage.

On a more serious note, I came to 2 major conclusions:

* If all the precious sh*t that 'might be useful one day' stored in all the garages, sheds, workshops, spare rooms etc was sent for recycling (sale or meltdown) then we would all have so much space we could probably downsize easily.
* In UK we have the 'car boot sale' where 100s and sometimes 1000s of people take their surplus stuff to sell. I think its all the same stuff!! Most of it is cr*p that Someone buys one week and is selling it the next.

In my own way as I get older and size and bulk of carry stuff is an issue I have disposed of all my redundant camera equipment and now have just 3 setups: FF EOS R with just 3 lenses (oh, and 2 EF lenses that will be really useful I'm sure); EOS M50 with 3 lenses for when I travel light; and EOS M100 always in the car. See, I told you I had rationalised :) And 2 tripods, numerous filters, etc etc, Just enough to get by really,

I have solved the multi charger problem though: I have a 65w PD QC 4 port charger; USB battery chargers for camera batteries (typically less than £10 on ebay); usb to 12v cables for the 2 items that need 12v. So with 1 charger, 4 or 5 leads, 2 camera battery chargers, all of which go into a single plastic zipup bag, I charge everything, from my dell laptop, to phone, tablet, cameras, GPS, and even power a wifi booster (obviously not all t the same time :)

If you don't use it in a calendar year, it doesn't belong in your kit wasting space and / or losing potential resale value.

Good answer--that's sort of the test I use a lot.

Also, consider exactly what you like taking pictures of and figure out what you need to do it properly. Then get rid of the rest--specially using the above standard. I have come to believe less is more and stick to a body and two lenses and a travel tripod. Most of my stuff fits into a very small pack with the extra lens going into my travel backpack. But that suits my needs--I'm just using it for an example--you should think about your needs and then act accordingly.

I have three hobbies; shooting handguns, computers, and photography. As I am now 77, I have been trying to sell my excess gun stuff. I put the guns on consignment with a dealer and have been selling the accessories; i.e, grips, books, scopes, tools, etc. I have also been trying to sell equipment from my Leica M3 collection. It isn't easy to get a fair price without giving it away. Also, some of the gun items are so large, they would be difficult to ship. Not easy to get rid of stuff!

I've had similar experiences on Ebay. Unfortunately, what you consider a "fair price" reflects more your assessment of your stuff and not a realistic view of how the world perceives it. I guess the item has to be considered a collectors item before it commands a high price. I can't give away some pre-digital Canon lenses, Minolta lenses, etc., but I made a killing a few years back when i sold my brother's Olympus Pen F. It was in pristine shape, had an attached light meter and case. I actually had a feeding frenzy going.

Eisenstadt - 1 Leica,1-lens;Mark - 1 Mamiya; Winagard (sp) - 1 Leica;Smith 1- Contax etc.

Keep those photo companies solvent. Nothing wrong in that pix, but how do you label the adapters? That's the challenge......

How many of you are in this same situation. This is a table of various stuff related to the technology in my life. Motorized gimbals, non-motorized, battery chargers, cables, camera (one of 3 I own), various manuals (most of them lost by now since all are easily replaced online). This is not even all of it. I have multiple chargers by my bed to charge phones, ipads, readers, watch, overnite.

So, when am I to consider that I am overwhelmed by technology. When is enough? I don't want to have the most toys when I die, since I don't even want to die!

I know what you mean. I have my stuff on a shelf in plastic boxes: chargers, flashes, filters. Too much stuff, and most of it isn't compatible with most gear. We need more standardization so accessories can be swapped back and forth. There are three popular sizes of USB cable, and I always pick the two that don't fit before I find the right one.
