I have purchased De-Noise and used it successfully for a few months. I'm using the Sharpen software on a trial basis. Here's my question:

De-Noise also offers a sharpening function and Sharpen also offers a de-noise function. So why would I need both De-Noise and Sharpen?

Because they don’t work the same. Most of the time the sharpening in DeNoise is sufficient but I’ve found that if there’s a lot of noise and I try to just use sharpen I just get sharp noise, even with the noise slider pegged.

I would say it is hit and miss but I did purchase it because more than 50% of the time it does a better job especially with the new update. It's on sale and if you go to the Jim Nix site you can get a further discount code so you pay about $50.

I'm on older mac equipment so your success or lack of it will depend on your platform. It's really weird, but when I use it I go from On1 Raw 2020 (my primary platform) to Topaz Studio 2 to Sharpen AI. There I sharpen in auto, auto as I am finding it does select the best version for me. Then accept to take that back to Topaz Studio 2 as a layer. I then use AI Clear in Topaz Studio 2, accept and it puts in back in On1 Raw 2020. So I am sure you are asking why - because they screwed up the API from On1 Raw 2020 directly to Sharpen AI and it generally doesn’t bring back the modified image. Also, the images are 5 times the size if I use my approach. Stupid but it works.

Good, bad, so-so? Thinking about the trial. Easy to use? I currently sharpen the hi-pass method. Would this be a improvement over that? Thanks for your comments.

I tried it,k liked it and purchased it. I'm waiting for Denoise to go on sale and will jump on that!

I had read all the wonderful comments about it, but hesitated with any Topaz product as my desktop didn't meet the minimum specs (no graphics card). But, for kicks, I tried the Gigapixel AI trial, just wondering how far it would get before it blew. Slow but finished. I asked Topaz, got a nice reply that my CPU had compensated with my 32GB of RAM. I then tried Sharpen AI while it was on sale, liked it, bought it while on sale. Same with Denoise AI. The Utility package included Gigapixel AI which I wanted, but not so much JPEGtoRAW, but when I did the price comparison of Gigapixel standalone with the bundle, bought the bundle (it will not include in price those elements you have already - VERY FAIR). Have been so impressed with their software, then bought the Creator bundle...

It does seem Topaz rotates which individual product is on sale, so you can pick them up piecemeal, waiting for the next one to go on sale. Also, any discount codes you can find DO work in addition to Topaz's own sales.

Bottom line: maybe I could do better with my Lightroom, old Photoshop, etc. But for quick and easy tools, they work wonders, and my time is also valuable.

I just bought it having run a few days of the trial. The stabilizing system is really great. Topaz is a really good company. I highly recommend Sharpen Ai.

As an aside, I bought Denoise and Adjust back in 2014. They upgraded to the Ai version with no charge a month ago 6 years after I bought the software. I use the three apps as plugins to Capture One. They work seamlessly.

Excellent customer support. World-class Customer Service.

I just used the Focus setting in Topaz Al sharpen to bring back clarity after using the Filter - Noise -Dust & Scratches set at 2.0 on a photo and was very pleased with the results of bringing back details

In the ideal world, at least mine, LR/PS with Topaz etc plugins is the cat's behind. I do 80-100% pf my editing with LR and the rest with PS and other plugins. All the results end up back in LR with it's powerful organization and incredibly fast search engine. And with the evil subscription service, my humor, I'm always up to date with fixes and new function. Just sayin'.
