This is something new. Amazon now wants total control of your Gmail on any Kindle device. I changed my Gmail password, and Amazon wanted complete access, or as the agreement stated - Amazon would be able to do anything I could do with my Gmail. That's ridiculous. Using Google, I found that this is something new. Amazon claims it needs access in order to send the email, but they never needed that kind of access before. I'll have to stop using a Kindle for Gmail, but I can still use my cell phone.

So, if you plan to change your Gmail password for a Kindle, be ready to surrender control to Amazon.

WOW!!!
Seems like Amazon has ulterior motives...

As bad as places (pages) on Facebook that want to be able "to post on your behalf".
Do people understand what that means????????
NO WAY am I letting any page post anything on my behalf!
I can't leave those pages fast enough.

Create a gmail account that you don't use for anything else but emails from Amazon.
This way the get access to nothing but their emails.

Does this apply just only to the Kindle?
This does not sound good to me I don’t like that why would they need access to your email that doesn’t sound right.

In a similar note, Google collapsed Tuesday on my iMac. All bookmarks lost. Solution? I'm not using Safari. So there!

That's one reason I switched from Nook to a generic Android tablet, nobody telling me what I can put on it or do, wish I'd bought a better one but that's another story, BTW generic Android was cheaper too.

Jerry... get rid of the Kindle! Or, use it only for reading. I gave mine away two years ago and bought an iPad. Kindle books are read thru the Kindle app. Or consider an android tablet. Or a Kindle Voyager and use for reading only. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Set up a another e-mail account and don't use it. I have a couple of these using different names. I NEVER read e-mail sent there.

And you believe that your cell phone and email provider don't already have complete access to your emails? Think again!
