Windows Explorer. I save my images and put them in a folder and made sure they were saved but why the card lost the images when placed back in the camera. It never did that before as I always had to format the card after placing in the camera

If you moved them (cut/paste), they won't be on the card, if you copied (copy/paste) them, they will.

Is it possible that you decided to use drag and drop instead of copy/paste ? Drag and Drop defaults to "Move" which would have the effect you are describing. [You can use drag and drop for Copy if you hold down the Ctrl key through the process]

Unless Windows has changed, the default for drag & drop from two different volumes is to copy, not move. Within a given volume, the default is to interpret the input as a move.

So this isn't correct unless Windows's defaults have changed.

Is it possible that, by mistake, a right click (which invokes a move) was involved instead of a left click (copy)?

Just another reason why I prefer TeraCopy (freeware) for my copy/move operations. With expanded window, you can see what it's doing, it verifies all copies/moves to ensure exactness, and keeps a log of what it's done.

I shoot a lot of infrared and I use to be able to transfer from my card reader to the computer and when finish, I'd put the card back in my camera and the photos would still be there but, lately when I transfer from my card reader or directly to the computer and put the card back in my camera, it says no image. Help

No image where? If the image is now in the computer where you "copied" it, you did a "Move." That's a normal function. More detail please

I would try to put them into a blank file. Just put a file on your screen and drag to it. See what happens. PS Let us know.

When you say "blank file" do you really mean "blank folder?"
