On my local ham radio net tonight, I heard the first direct first person report from a person who, and his entire family, contracted the virus. His daughter, who is a bank teller and was not allowed to wear a mask at work, Apparently caught the virus at work, where reportedly customers often did not wear masks. Of course there is no way to know for sure where she contracted it, but she infected the entire family, including the grandchildren. A month later, everyone is alive, but if you had heard his story, as I did, you would be VERY careful. This is not a short term illness, and his weakness and loss of physical and mental function after a month of illness was chilling to hear. Friends, BE CAREFUL! It’s easy to get lax after months of this, but don’t get sloppy now - the danger isn’t lower, it’s higher, and the consequences are VERY serious.

Many stores here won't let you in without a mask of some kind and a few won't even allow the Hollywood Bandit kerchiefs that some allow. Many have a box of masks at the door and if you don't have one - well some sell them to you, some give them (they are the cheap throwaway type if they are giving them out).

A couple more: you can stick your tongue out at anyone not wearing one,
and you don't have to worry about having some spinach stuck between your teeth.

I agree TriX. Here in So. Oregon I've been noticing that at most supermarkets & malls the mask wearing requirement is near 100%. If you go into a hardware store the number of people wearing masks is much worse. I'd estimate about 30% of people never wear a mask and the stores do not require them.
While people working in the hardware stores have masks on, they never enforce the wearing requirement on people coming into the stores even tho signs are at each entrance saying "Masks required".

Poor management, IMHO.

In our Lowe’s yesterday, I noticed several couples with the mask uselessly covering the mouth but not the nose.

Very true about the mumbling/talking to myself; the mask hides my insanity. 😊

They're also great for woodworking in the garage - no more sawdust up my nose.

Yes, I've seen that, too. "What are they thinking?" They're not.

Then you have to people who pull down their mask to talk - or cough or sneeze.

It is about the only positive thing to come out of this mask scam. I am a retired Clinical Microbiologist and never in my 30 year career have I heard so many half truths and outright lies as I have with this COVID-19 crap.

I agree, I sat outside a store a week ago and noticed as people got out of their cars and started to the store putting on the mask. I thought how much better most of them looked after the mask was in place and wondered if they ever thought about the improvement!

In that case, it's good you live in a state (FL) that doesn't have many Covid-19 cases.

It is good that you retired, since you don’t seem to understand how infectious this particular virus is.
