What are you so bitter about?
My comment merely expressed how sad I feel when someone asks what they ought to photograph.
In the heat of the day, go to Building 98, if it's open.

Then you've missed out on great learning experiences. Whenever they are posted, UHH members come up with excellent ideas. When I've been to places I see things suggested that I wish I'd gone to and photographed. Much better information that merely googling a location for the highlights.

RWR, you should know by now how many reactions you will receive IF YOU DO NOT make your thoughts and intentions VERY CLEAR on your initial post. As far as I know, most of us are not psychic or mind readers. It is good you cleared this so the ones who think you are an asshole can rest. As stated, we are all here to help each other but the opinionated comments will always be with us.
Thank you for clearing up.

We all have different opinions. I don’t feel I’ve missed anything by not copying what someone else did.

Bruce, thank you for the kick in the butt. I become nauseated by some here who cannot write the time of day in less than half a page - like they’re talking down to everyone as if no one else knows anything - I tend to go to the other extreme, not wishing to sound like a gasbag. I’ll try to reform. And stay out of threads like this!
In town, be ready to take pics of the art decorating their buildings, windows and doors. Go to town with a 24-70 mm lens. Look around figure how the light might be and return in the evening and morning to shoot what you scouted on the prior visit. Like someone said, the main museum and it's outdoor exhibit. If you camp, there is an RV park in town with lots of neat stuff. too.

FIRST, make sure the Natl. Park is open. They were recently closed, even to thru traffic.
Chisos Basin is the most beautiful / scenic area. Spend a day. Eat at the lodge. Best food around, not discounting the Dairy Queen in Marfa.
Marfa - the goofy art is everywhere, even on roads leading into and outta town. There's a museum downtown that's somewhat interesting.
If near Ft. Davis, the Fort there is worth a hour or two. Don't miss the drug store with no drugs, downtiwn.
A spectacular but longish drive is to take the RIVER ROAD, which starts west of Terlingua and goes on to Presidio. Eat at El Patio Restaurant. Then, back to Marfa. Everything goes thru Marfa. River Road parallels The Rio Grande for nikes and has spectacular views.
There is, literally, little to see going to/from Rio Grande Village.
Watch for Road Runners on the highways.
Sneak peak - my pics from a Sept trio to
Big Bend <-- click.
Have a good trip.

Admin has warned me that the UHH is not the place to advise people to think for themselves. Most folks here are intelligent enough to choose their own subjects ... best to ignore those who aren't.

Thanks, Leitz. I do intend to stay out of these ridiculously amateurish postings.
