I have an XT-1 and an XT-2. I like the 1 perhaps even more than the 2. Smaller, simpler and it just knows what to do. Here, for instance is a shot on auto everything of the little plaza in my town. Shade and sun, subjects of all reflectance values, and Fuji just sorted it all out to the very best compromise of all possibilities and gave me this beautifully balanced little vignette of Americana with lovely colors, right out of the camera. And it does it every time. No it does not have mega megapixels, and I usually use the kit lens (this was the kit lens for this photo), but it delivers the exposure, the sharpness, the color every time. Yes i could improve this by cropping, it is the entire frame as is!

There are a couple of nit-picky things you could do if you kept the raw file (like a little shadow recovery for the dog) but the crop is fine.

There is entirely too much agonizing over technical stuff here. Your camera did a fine job with the exposure and color. What more could we ask?

Totally agree. Own an X-e3 and read Ken Rockwell's review of the X-T1. Went looking and found one brand new for $500.00. More than used available prices, but I like new. It is an exceptional camera. Have shot witb the kit zoom, 60mm macro, and 23mm prime - all on full auto. Outstanding jpegs. Now I am going to learn its bells and whistles.

Check the color calibration on your monitor. The people are a bit tan - this is the South, but if they look red on your monitor it is your monitor. The image in the camera is neutral in cast. The way you can tell it is neutral is to look at the whites. If you test the white in a graphics program and get a readout of the rgb values you can see if there is a red tinge. Turning up the saturation can also produce color distortion in jpg's

Fuji is really nice, like it, too. Today’s technology changed cameras and lenses so much that you are enable to handhold a 600mm. For months I question why I want to use 70-200, 2.8f lens what is heavy and big. I updated my knowledge and this lens is my go to lens.....no matter what

Hi Cat - thought I'd join in for the fun ..... I'm with you ..... was Nikon (DX and FX) but found Fuji in 2013 whilst using D700 and some nice primes. Started with an X-E1 and the "famous" kit lens. Quickly discovered that, in conjunction with my levels of LR knowledge / use, the Fuji results were "good enough" for me. I think, although many wouldn't admit it, there's a huge proportion of UHH-ers who are enthusiasts, liking reasonably good quality, but not in need of "the best" 'cos we're not in it for a living, but for fun. After the first Fuji I've had an X-T1 (slow autofocus in low light and fast action), an X-100T (thought if I wanted the 23mm focal length I might as well get a second camera as well for same money), an X-Pro2 (dunno why, 'cos it's rangefinder style and doesn't suit me - mistake !), and an X-T2, which I love - don't really care what anyone else thinks, I'm settled with what works for me.

I'm what you all might simply call a "general shooter" - (lots of us here methinks) - like to take pics of whatever takes my fancy at the time ! Priorities are IQ (enthusiast remember, but not pro !), and low light focus capability with my lenses (2 x F1.4 and 1 x f1.2 - on APS-C sensor). I've "by-passed" the X-T3 (it appeared too soon after I'd bought the T2) and, with a fair wind and a little financial good fortune, will probably end up with the T4 within the next few months.

Everyone's different - no probs for me - no need for "some" to castigate others 'cos of their personal choices - just enjoy what you have - after all YOU chose it !

Leave you with a couple of pics - don't get mad you non-Fuji folks, you're not me - and one of my latest efforts edited with the (free !) Capture 1 Express for Fuji ...... which is "good enough" for me and my circle,

Bon week-end mes amis !

I’ve always been infatuated with all things PENTAX. Glass cameras, scopes, binoculars, etAl. In the recent couple of years I’ve acquired quite a bit of FUJI. I’ve gotta admit, now.. I just “love em both”.........Fuji & pentax................................RJM

There's an australian forum I lurk around at times called Shotkit.com. Basically it's a "what's in my camera bag" focus aside from helpful reviews. I find it interesting how many of the photographers on that site are shooting with Fuji - prefaced by "I used to only shoot Canon (or Nikon) but switched because........". A lot of "I bought the X100 as a personal toy and was blown away by the colors" or "Shooting two cameras at a wedding was hurting my back" or similar justifications. My shooting buddy just acquired a GFX50R and a fist full of lenses. His images are blowing me away - both color and detail.

I think Fuji hit a sweet spot in the camera world, with the elegance of simplicity plus just the right amount of nice little tools along with the color that made their film so desirable, and all that in a handy sized package, accompanied by superior glass. Some professionals, tired of transporting mountains of gear, found they could work just as effectively with this scaled down package, and the just for fun photographers found Fuji "just fit". I have been shooting Nikons since the 70's and had my own darkroom - even did color printing. Not any more!

I hope that Pentax lives on. But, if it dies, I will go totally FUJI. I remember you, cat, and appreciate your perspective...Bob

They do make a 100-400 lens with is equivalent to 150-600. Here are some handheld shots from my backyard.
