I do understand the concern many older people have when looking for answers when you select a firearm. A shotgun 20 or 12 gauge is the best home defense tool you can buy Ammo is cheap & available.

A pistol is the best way to protect yourself while traveling away from home. A six shot 38 spl, not a 357 or 44 magnum is all you need. If you are willing to learn the complexites of the Semi-auto pistol, then that would be the best pistol for self defense. I carry a Colt Commander a light weight 1911 .45 acp, it's my cool weather choice with a Kahr CW45 a six shot .45acp compact semi-auto weighs like 25ozs as a summer carry.

I am 68 & prefer a 45 acp, yet I also am a NRA Rifle & Pistol instructor of 30 years, and also a NMC competitor with my wife for about 28 years. Not counting my Military training & use of many different weapon systems. Seek the help of local shooting clubs & shooting ranges they offer training for Self defense carry.

Having a gun/tool only means that you feel the need to have a way to protect your family. Hows being prepared for a posable need to defend yourself, anything other that being prepared or just realistic about how the world really is.

It was a joke. I would stand my ground as well. After the first one fell, I think the crowd would understand the meaning of the red laser dot and move away quickly. If not, I have plenty of ammo and would use it to protect myself and my family. Best of luck.

Whew! For a second I thought you were serious. Unfortunately there are many who will run, surrender, and want someone else to put their lives on the line for them.
Take care

I do hope that less people than usual get shot this weekend.

Very well, please accept my appologies. I too hope our body politic cools off.

No! Teddy Kennedy 's car has killed more people than all my guns, and I have a lot. and I shoot at our gun club every week.

I'm to old to run or take any s__t from some adolescent punk, that's why I carry a Kimber 45 ACP with 2 extra mags every day. Don't leave home without it!

Not a good time to be unarmed. Of course there has never been a time you could really just give up your 2nd amendment right to keep & bear arms. Not a new concept to anyone other than someone with there head in the sand. You are only free because God gave you the right of self defense & our forefathers were
Christian enough to write it down on paper.

Thank God I grew up overseas in the US Army. It's really not that hard to imagine a world where armed men rule by force & fear. Thank God I live in a free Country where armed men & women are allowed to defend themselves & there families. Long live America!

I am and have been well stocked on guns and ammo. I've not been to a gun store recently, but I understand demand has been high. My handyman also works for an ammo manufacturer and he has indicated that they cannot keep up with it.

Hey Matureoooo. The Christians you speak of werent the first folks here. Native Americans were.Christians killed most of them. Then they brought other folks over and enslaved them. AND YOU KNOW HOW THEY WERE ABLE TO DO ALL THAT WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN work? God must have given them the guns to do it. Yes sir. You know what you can do with your read of the 2nd Amendment? I am so glad old white men like you are soon going to be a small minority talking to yourselves.

God bless America
